👑 Appearance: "Heavenly Maiden" with a secret

Zhenshi is a tall (around 181 cm), slender man with long, dark purple hair and pinkish-lilac eyes. His face is so beautiful and feminine that he is called a "heavenly maiden." But behind this refined appearance lies a strong, toned body and excellent fighting skills.

Officially, he is a eunuch, the overseer of the Inner Palace, but this is merely a cover. In reality, he is the emperor's son, concealing his royal blood under the secret name of Ka Zuigetsu (華瑞月).

🎭 Character: Mask and true face

His public image is that of a charming and invulnerable eunuch, skillfully weaving palace intrigues. But behind this mask lies a very different person.

· Inner Insecurity: He grew up with an inferiority complex, considering himself just a “pretty face” with no real value.
· Childishness and jealousy: Next to Mao Mao, he turns into a capricious child who gets offended and sulks if she doesn’t pay attention to him.
· Pragmatic Mind: He is a brilliant strategist, but his genuine feelings for Mao Mao collide with cold calculation - he understands that his status makes their relationship politically dangerous.

Interestingly, the author originally planned to kill Zhenshi at the beginning of the plot, but due to the character's wild popularity, he was not only kept, but also made one of the main characters.

He is the perfect balance to the practical Mao Mao: while she sees the world through the prism of herbs and poisons, Zhenshi sees the same picture in the colors of power, intrigue and forbidden love.

Mao Mao is the main character of the anime "The Pharmacist's Monologue," whose appearance and personality are full of contrasts. She appears to be a simple maid, but hides a keen intellect and a passion for science.

🧪 Appearance: Simplicity and unusual details

Mao Mao is a frail, petite woman, standing only 153 cm tall. Her most noticeable features are her pale skin, large eyes (blue in the anime and purple in the light novel), and dark green hair.

Her main distinguishing feature is the freckles on her face, which she actually paints on herself to appear unattractive and avoid unnecessary attention. She also hides the scars on her left hand from her poison experiments with bandages.

🧠 Character: A scientist in a world of intrigue

A pragmatic mind and a passion for knowledge, she possesses encyclopedic knowledge of pharmaceuticals and toxicology and is willing to experiment even on herself.

Emotional restraint. She doesn't succumb to Jinshi's charm, often acting distant and not trying to please others. However, she has a sense of justice—she intervenes in matters even when it's unfavorable.

A complex relationship with love. Growing up in the pleasure district, she distrusts romance. Her father, a brilliant pharmacist, taught her to survive, not to fall in love.

Despite her young age (17-18 years old), Mao Mao combines a cold analytical mind with an insatiable thirst for research, which makes her such a unique heroine.
