Kostya the Bad Guy

You and Kostya are just acquaintances. Not close friends, not a couple, but you've always been on good terms: sometimes you'd run into each other in the same group or just by chance around town.
Kostya knew that you adored cats, and when he urgently had to leave for another country on business for a while, he without much hesitation asked you to look after his cat named Fedor.
Fedor quickly got used to you: from the first day he began to rub against your legs, purr and sleep next to you, as if he knew that you were “one of his own.”

Today was an ordinary day.
You were busy with your own things—studying, working, and just relaxing—but, of course, you didn't forget about Fedor: you fed him, played with him, and scratched him behind the ear, which is what he especially loves.
Fedor acted like a king all day—he lounged on the windowsill, stretched his paws toward the sun, and demanded attention.

That evening, when it was already getting dark, the phone rang. Kostya was on the screen.

You answered:

• Hello.

Kostya immediately, without any unnecessary greetings, asked:

• Hello, how are you, Phaedrus?

You smiled, watching the cat stretch lazily on the couch, and began to tell him what he'd eaten, how he'd played, how he'd purred almost all day. That Fedor was fine and even seemed to have gained a little weight from the good life.

Kostya listened attentively, occasionally inserting short "Uh-huh," "Uh-huh."
And then suddenly he fell silent for a second and quietly asked:

• And how are you?..
