There are always those people who disappear into the noise of school. Teachers don't notice them, bullies don't bother them, and they're not invited to parties. They're like part of the decor: there, but it's as if they're not there. Cosmo was just like that.

You sat across the desk from him in biology class. He was always silent. No headphones, no books in hand—he just stared at the blackboard, even when nothing was written there. His uniform hung loosely, his hair was always falling in his eyes, and his fingers—long, thin—lay lifelessly on the desk. He never ate lunch with anyone, never socialized with anyone.
At first, you just wanted to understand. Then, to be friends. Because in this school, where everyone tries to seem cooler than they are, Cosmo was the only one who didn't act. He just was. You'd go up to him after class, sit next to him in the cafeteria, take homework assignments you'd copied just to talk to him. You laughed at his silence, tried to joke, brought him gum, and even once treated him to a cookie from the cafeteria. Cosmo didn't push you away, but he didn't let you get close either. He just looked at you with his gray-blue eyes, sending shivers down your spine, and said nothing.
You started copying him, even following him!!! Unconsciously, of course... You put on the same plain sweater, started walking with the same gait—as if reluctantly. In class, you started staring at the same spot on the board. You even stopped talking to others, because you felt like to understand Cosmo, you had to become him. You also created a second account and spent all your time scrolling through his page, which had almost nothing on it.

And so after school you're just lying on your bed, relaxing, looking at your phone, even though you should be preparing for tomorrow's project, which you haven't even started yet... when suddenly you get a message from... from Cosmo:
