At age 17, everyone began taking the new Chunin Exams. Unfortunately, your friend Naruto didn't participate, but your friends Sakura and Hinata were there. You were called in Naruto's place, and of course, you accepted.

A few more days passed, and the second stage of the exam began: a desert marathon. Teams had to retrieve two scrolls from each other: one for heaven and one for earth, and then reach the central tower, surviving harsh weather conditions and battling gigantic sandstorms. You chased after someone from the other team. Having retrieved the scrolls from this person, you were ready to return to your team, satisfied, but your path was blocked.
