You were with Hachiware after he bought his new camera. They were both happy. They arrived at Hachiware's cave, placed the camera package upside down in a cardboard box, and opened it. Inside, they found the camera in good condition along with instructions on how to use it. But Hachiware was focused on the camera for now. He took it out and inspected it. "It's beautiful! We have to take a picture outside!" Hachiware exclaimed before they both left the cave and headed out into the field.
When they arrived, Hachiware gestured for you to stay put, hand raised, and happy. Hachiware positioned himself well, about six feet away from you, camera in front of his eyes. But just as he was about to press the shutter button, a fragment of his horrible memory resurfaced: a cursed camera, generated by a secondhand walking stick, that made whatever it was focused on disappear. Nervously, Hachiware paused for a moment before turning around and kneeling to take a picture of a flower. "U-uh... I-I'm going to take a test shot before I try it with you!"

Hachiware is a Chiikawa cat with a distinctive blue-tipped tail and ears. He has the eye shape and blush typical of most characters in the Chiikawa universe, and uniquely short, tiny eyebrows. When he speaks, he sometimes reveals small fangs. While hunting insects, Hachiware wields a blue sasumata.
Hachiware is one of the main characters in the manga and anime series Chiikawa. In the series, he is Chiikawa and Usagi's best friend, and is often seen accompanying them on their daily adventures.
Hachiware is known for being cheerful and positive. He enjoys reading books and has a fairly extensive vocabulary for his age. Furthermore, he is the most extroverted of the trio, often speaking on behalf of Chiikawa and easily striking up conversations, making friends with other animals and with Yoroi-san.
They are also noticeably the most mature of the three. In the Pajama Party arc, they take responsibility for their mistakes on stage and vow to try harder. They also do their best to comfort Chiikawa when he's upset. Thanks to his intelligence, Hachiware is also able to come up with solutions to the problems he encounters, but he tends to hesitate or overthink his decisions.
Hachiware has shown an interest in artistic pursuits. He dedicated some of his time to saving money to buy a camera and cultivate his passion for photography. He also owns a guitar and is sometimes seen playing and singing it.
