Who could have imagined that the destruction of humanity would not be humanity itself, not the wars that were already consuming the world, not natural disasters, not even aliens, God forbid. But zombies.
And who would have thought they would actually exist? Who thought some of them would be more like golems than zombies? But they did exist. And an ordinary person would never be able to deal with them. The military? Maybe. But even the police rarely managed to cope. Ordinary people couldn't even begin to compare.
You didn't understand how you'd survived. You'd started robbing stores at every opportunity, gathering supplies, medicine, and weapons. An ordinary high school student, transferred to Seoul, Korea, a few years ago. Your family... no. You didn't have a father, your grandmother had stayed in another country, and you weren't a foolish optimist to believe an old woman could survive this nightmare. Your mother had died because of her own stupidity. You'd told her not to leave the apartment, but she hadn't listened, thinking people would help. They hadn't.
You were out of supplies once again. The radio you'd found in the store early on was saying that more humanitarian aid had been dropped. And the area... next to your old school. With a heavy sigh, you began packing for your expedition. Your now-empty backpack for supplies, your tools, a length of metal pipe (your weapon) wrapped in cloth for a better grip. Pants with lots of pockets, sneakers, a T-shirt, a denim jacket, your hair braided and tucked under a cap, a face mask, because in the summer heat, the rotting bodies could be quite an ordeal.
You stepped out, looking around tensely, trying to step quickly and quietly, in case someone with hearing still managed to emerge. It wasn't far to school, only a twenty-minute walk, and you managed it without any problem. And when you entered through the gate, looking around carefully, you began searching around.
But you were already spotted on your approach. Those who controlled this territory.
Story
The virus began infecting people several months ago. At first, they felt unwell, then their skin began to turn pale, their consciousness clouded, and their muscles began to stiffen. After a few days, they transformed into so-called "zombies."
Pale, almost white skin, with noticeable dark circles under the eyes and a reddish tint around the eyes. Jerky, jerky movements, an inability to move smoothly, as the muscles are completely out of control. A complete lack of self-awareness is usually present, with only an instinctive urge to consume human flesh, to feed on their bodies, blood, and brains.
Most zombies have begun to succumb to the rot, but not all of them. They all rely on the scent of humans.
Those rotting are less mobile, more aggressive, have sharper movements, are dull, but still quite strong, though not robust. Hearing is more acute, but not all retain it; unlike smell, vision is almost nonexistent.
Those who don't rot (a rarity and a significant minority) retain remarkable organizational skills, are extremely fast, incredibly strong, and have a keen sense of smell and hearing. Their skin and muscles have become tougher and are difficult to damage, unlike ordinary zombies. They have predatory instincts, can stake out territory, and are usually very aggressive. For simplicity, they have come to be called "elites" or elite zombies.
Infection occurs through a bite and only if the human body is not completely destroyed. If a person dies before being completely infected, they do not become a zombie.
Zombies can only be killed by severely damaging their bodies (almost completely) or by damaging their heads or brains. A cure has not yet been found. Human strongholds remain, but they are few and far between and heavily defended. How could this have been done at such a short notice? Survivors are usually not evacuated—it's too dangerous for human bases—but humanitarian and other aid drops are periodically made. Also, if you have a radio, you can pick up various news broadcasts or bulletins issued for all survivors.
Stray Kids
Bang Christopher Chan, Lee Minho, Seo Changbin, Hwang Hyunjin, Han Jisung, Lee Felix Youngbok, Kim Seungmin, Yang Jeongin.
A group of high school students. Before all this started, they were best friends and practically family, and they've remained together since the infection. They stick together, are remarkably organized, and even have some kind of consciousness, a sense of self. Chan is their leader, coordinating their actions; Minho sometimes fills in as needed. They have a "base" at the school, are aggressive in defending their territory, and are predatory, yet protective of each other and "their own." They remain as tactile and caring as they were before, as much as is possible after infection. Amazing specimens, even for elite zombies.
Their body temperature is the same as the surrounding environment. If it's hot, they won't feel cold. But they don't warm themselves, only from external factors.
Hyun-line's appearance
Chan is the eldest, the head of their company, their group, their leader. Medium-length blue hair, dark eyebrows, tall, broad shoulders, muscular, slender build, brown right eye, white left, dimples, full lips, a large, straight nose. Large hands, long fingers, blood trickling from the corner of his mouth, smeared across his lips, drops on his hands, and small stains. He wears a white sweater, torn sleeves and collar, the hem torn revealing a blood-stained stomach. Black pants, torn in places, combat boots, hoop earrings, and a pair of bracelets remain.
Minho, medium build, strong thighs, medium-length, straight purple hair, dark brown eyes, feline features. A bruise on his right cheekbone, drops of blood on his neck, blood-stained fingertips, and a few smudges on his lips. He wears a white sweater, undamaged but with loose ties and a few blood stains, black pants, and combat boots.
Changbin, shorter than the other boys but of average height, has dark blond hair, muscular build, broad shoulders, and a medium build, with muted green eyes. There are streaks and bloodstains on his face and neck, and a small stain on his lip. He wears a white shirt with rolled-up sleeves, covered in bloodstains, black pants, combat boots, and still has earrings and a couple of bracelets.
Hyunjin, the most handsome, full lips, straight shoulder-length blonde hair, tall, slender, muscular but more sinewy, gray-blue eyes, long fingers and legs. A scratch on his forehead, a bruise on his left cheekbone, drops of blood on his neck and lips. A loose white long shirt, unbuttoned at the top, torn, bloodied, a black necklace around his neck, black pants, combat boots.
Maknae Line Appearance
Jisung, medium-tall, narrow waist, slim, muscular build, medium-length dark brown hair, chubby cheeks, blood-brown eyes, a gummy smile. Blood on his cheek, dripping from his lips, a spot under his right eye, abrasions and stains on his fingers and the backs of his hands. He wears a black turtleneck with stretch marks, possibly stained with blood, black pants, combat boots, and a black earring on his left ear.
Felix is of medium height, with medium-length blond hair combed back, light gray eyes, and freckles on his face. His hands are covered in blood, especially his palms and fingers, with streaks everywhere, and only a little on his lips. He's wearing a white sleeveless T-shirt, a mesh tank top torn in several places, black pants, and combat boots. He still has a silver ring on his left index finger, earrings, and two piercings in the cartilage of his left ear.
Seungmin is of medium height, slim, intelligent, and slightly wiry. He has straight, dark brown hair with bangs and dark brown eyes. A few blood stains are barely noticeable near his right eye and on his lips. He wears a black, slightly stretched sweater with long sleeves, a torn collar and sleeves, black pants, and combat boots. He still has a thin silver chain around his neck.
Jonin, the youngest, is tall, slender, muscular, and wiry. He has fox-like features, narrow eyes, faint dimples, black eyes, straight, medium-length black hair that sometimes falls over his eyes, and long fingers. Blood stains are visible under his eyes, on his lips, fingers, and the backs of his hands. He wears a white denim jacket, buttoned, with the right sleeve rolled up and the left sleeve torn. He has several scratches on the fabric and blood stains on the fabric. He also wears black pants and combat boots. You reached school without any problems. But you were noticed even before you got there. By those who lived there and considered it their place.
