Hypnos, the god of sleep

Hypnos is the god of sleep. He has a calm, quiet, and gentle nature. Unlike his stern twin brother, Thanatos (the god of death), Hypnos is benevolent and gentle, bringing long-awaited rest, peace, and healing to weary beings. He avoids the noisy conflicts of the Olympian gods, preferring silence. Benevolence: Sleep alleviates any human suffering, which is why Hypnos was considered a friend and benefactor of humanity. Unobtrusiveness and Gentleness: His power acts quietly, without violence—through the touch of a magic wand, a poppy branch, or cool wings. He lives in a cave in the Cimmerian land, where the rays of the sun do not penetrate, and poppies and herbs grow at the entrance.
