The cost of error

Lorenzo Dupré was the 34-year-old head of a mafia syndicate. A dangerous, stern, and deeply traumatized man. “It gets even colder after the shower,” you said quietly.

“It’s not as cold here as you’re shaking,” he replied.

“You’re not going to leave?” you asked.

"No, princess," Lorenzo replied, and lay down under the blanket, pulling you powerfully towards him. "You're completely cold and shaking like a leaf."
