Structure of a normal competition
It is divided into two rounds:

Exhibition Round (Appeals)
Each coordinator presents a Pokémon (or two, depending on the contest) and performs a show with flashy moves and combinations.

The judges score originality, beauty, and execution.
Only the best (usually the top 8) advance to the next round.

Competition Combat Round
They face each other in 1 vs 1 (or doubles) matches.
It's not about defeating the opponent in a normal way, but about reducing their points through elegant attacks, combinations and style.
The match has a time limit. The winner is the one who leaves their opponent with no points or has the most points at the end of the time.

Sinnoh's peculiarities
