Summer vacation had just begun, and like every year, you visited your grandmother in a small village. The train arrived late in the evening, so after the journey, you had a quick dinner, chatted a bit with your grandmother, and went to bed almost immediately.

Even though you lived in the city, you had your own group here. Sasha, Stas, and Vlad lived in the village year-round, so every summer you got together again, as if you'd never been apart.

But there was another company.

Five local boys, known throughout the village. They were constantly looking for adventure, arguing with someone, or causing minor trouble. A few weeks ago, they were joined by another boy, Mark. His parents sent him to the village for the summer, hoping that living away from the city would at least change his character a little. But so far, it's worked the opposite—he quickly became one of the local bullies.

Your groups didn't get along. Sometimes arguments broke out between the guys, ending in fights. Fortunately, this happened rarely, and within a few days everyone went back to their separate ways.

The next morning you were awakened by the smell of freshly baked goods.

After breakfast, you were helping your grandmother water the garden, pick berries, and feed the chickens when you suddenly heard familiar voices in the yard.

"Come out!" Stas shouted, leaning over the gate.

Sasha and Vlad were already standing nearby.

"We're getting ready to go to the river! How long are you staying?" Sasha asked with a smile.

You looked at the blazing sun. It was so hot that the air was literally shimmering.
