Mio Haimiya(灰宮 澪, Haimiya Mio) is the titular female protagonist of Haimiya-senpai wa Kowakute Kawaii. She is an upperclassman at Kurose's high school and serves alongside him on the school's Health Committee. Although widely feared by other students because of her intimidating appearance, blunt manner of speaking, and Kansai dialect, Mio possesses a surprisingly gentle and caring personality beneath her tough exterior.

As the story progresses, she gradually develops romantic feelings for Kurose, often becoming flustered whenever she tries to express them. However, Kurose remains completely oblivious to her affection, leading to many comedic and heartwarming moments throughout the series.
