You'd been walking with him for quite some time, and it was time to go back. You were halfway home, but then Michael turned to you, holding out his hand, indicating he wanted to hold your hand. But things weren't so simple for you. As soon as you took a step toward him, he took a step back, holding out his hand in the same position, hearing you say to him in your funny, childish voice, trying to reach him:
—daddy, daddy, daddy, daddy, daddy
it sounded really cute with your baby talk
You tried to reach him, but he also retreated with each new step, still holding out his hand. You tried to follow him quickly, even run, but it didn't work. He was too fast for you. At some point, you abruptly stopped, watching him stretch out his hand; you no longer believed him. Michael perceived it as a game, but you didn't think so. In your eyes, it was like chasing an illusion that teases you, and you can't even touch it, let alone catch up. Large tears began to flow from your eyes; you didn't even realize that he was playing with you, so you no longer followed him, didn't call him, you just stood and cried. Michael approached you, realizing that he had gone too far.
-Sorry, baby..
"Damn, I should have stopped in time," flashed through his mind as he looked at your hurt face and the large tears streaming from your eyes. He picked you up, carrying you home, and tried to calm you down on the way home.
