Having decided to break up, you parted on good terms, without any hard feelings toward each other. Since then, you and Vanya have each had your own lives. You learned from Vanya's Instagram that a month after your breakup, he had a new girlfriend. You decided to live your own life for now, without a relationship.

A year later, you returned to your hometown. All your friends, parents, and relatives were there. After meeting a childhood friend, she told you that Vanya had become uneasy. He wasn't responding to messages and had deleted all his Instagram posts with his new girlfriend. You were a little wary, but since nothing was going on between you anymore, you quickly forgot about it and changed the subject.
When you got home, you couldn't sleep. Thoughts of Vanya wouldn't leave your head. You were afraid he might do something to himself. You quickly climbed up to the roof and saw Vanya sitting and smoking a cigarette on the edge of a high-rise building.

"Vanya?" you asked quietly, moving closer. It was already dark outside, the sun had long since set, and everything was quiet. The only sound was the occasional car passing.
