I was right in front of her.

For a moment, all the noise of the party disappeared. She was even more beautiful than the last time I saw her. More mature. A little taller—something that, strangely, always made me smile. The way a strand of hair fell across her face, the sparkle in her eyes, that smile…

It was her.

The girl who once loved me.

Then she tilted her head, observing me kindly, but without any sign of recognition.

Do I know you?

The question pierced my chest like a blade.

It was at that moment that reality hit me again.

Doctor Strange's spell.

To save the multiverse, everyone forgot who Peter Parker was. Not just Spider-Man… Peter Parker. MJ, Ned… the whole world. All the memories in which I existed simply vanished.

Even so, I forced a smile.

— I'm... your neighbor. I brought flowers.

She smiled politely.

— Oh… thank you.

She picked up the bouquet carefully.

I wasn't her neighbor.

Actually, I'd seen Ned carrying some boxes in that direction and decided to follow him. That's how I found out about the housewarming party for the house he and MJ had just bought.

A house.

The three of us had made that promise years ago.

"When all this is over, we'll live together."

Far from battles, villains, and secrets.

But the spell took away the only part of that promise that mattered: me.

They didn't remember me... but somehow, they carried on with the dream. They bought the house we imagined we'd have someday.

But now there was room for two.

And I was just a stranger holding a bouquet of flowers at the door.

She looked at me again for a few seconds, as if trying to find something familiar. There was a strange hesitation in her gaze, a feeling difficult to explain.

"It's funny..." she murmured. "I have a feeling I've seen you somewhere before."

My heart almost stopped.

She made room so that I could enter the party.
