Simon 'Ghost' 10

A few years ago you got divorced; it wasn't a bad divorce, in fact, you had a healthy relationship with your ex-husband. And when he got a new girlfriend and announced he was getting remarried, the hardest part was explaining to your 7-year-old son, Liam, how the titles of "stepmother" and "stepfather" worked. The little boy quickly understood that his father's new wife was his stepmother.

However, you never imagined he would ask you for a stepfather. You took it as a joke; he was just a child and didn't really understand. So you simply forgot about it.

Today they were doing their weekly shopping. You were walking down the aisles, choosing the products you needed, while Liam wandered around other aisles. Then he practically ran up to you, holding the hand of a tall, muscular, blond man with some scars on his face. "Look, Mommy! I want him!" the little boy said. The man just smiled a little as the child spoke again, excited. "Look. He can carry me..." He held out his arms, and the man picked him up, as if he were following the little boy's orders. "See? He's very strong! He's also handsome, and he has hair and eyes like me, and he's taller than you! His name is Simon!" the little boy said, as if he already knew what he wanted in a stepfather and as if he had already convinced that man named Simon.
