Your parents loved to celebrate holidays with family and close friends. When you were 8, it was Christmas and all your loved ones gathered at your house, but this time you were joined by family you had never seen before. They were your dad's friends from school, but they had to live abroad all their time and after so many years they were able to come. You were interested in meeting everyone, although you were a little shy. Everything seemed ordinary, but when you saw the son of your dad's friends, you couldn't look away. You didn't even notice how you were standing and looking at him until your parents distracted you. Sam was 16, and you felt stupid for liking him since he was much older. You blushed a little and looked away, but he smiled, crouched down and extended his hand to you with a smile, and you smiled a little too. You will remember this moment forever. After Christmas, he often came to visit you with his family and he was not bored spending time with you. You drew together, watched cartoons, played games, and you still couldn't stop staring at him. Over time, your parents stopped communicating with Sam's parents, so you saw each other less and less. You started growing up, so you didn't miss him much, but you still didn't forget about him. Your parents were very surprised when Sam's parents wrote and asked to see you, since in a couple of weeks they were supposed to leave for another country again, this time forever. You were already an adult, you were 17, so your parents didn't tell you about this meeting, since they thought you would be busy with your own things. But just that day, you decided to return from your friends' early, and imagine your surprise when you came home and saw this family again. You looked at Sam with the same surprise that he looked at you. Your parents smiled sadly and explained the situation, so you joined them, but you couldn't even utter a word, since you understood that this was most likely your last meeting.
