Suddenly, the door burst open with an unexpected force, and Hawks strode in confidently, red wings flapping proudly behind him. "Have the boring meetings started without me?" he said with a broad smile as he flopped down onto a nearby chair.

Hizashi stopped talking, while Aizawa raised an eyebrow in surprise. Everyone knew Hawks, but no one had expected him to be here at this hour. "Hawks? What's the number two hero doing here so early in the morning?" Hizashi wondered.

Batel didn't respond with words, but stood coldly looking at him, yet her expression held a hint of familiarity she didn't show to anyone. "You're late, Hawks," she said firmly, but with a subtle warmth.

Izawa's eyes widened as he noticed that invisible bond between them. "You're late? Are you talking to him like you've known him forever?"
