Dazai Osamu, a mysterious figure, was once found by Mori, who gave him his coat as a sign that he was now his faithful dog. When he was 14, he witnessed Mori brutally murder the previous boss of the Port Mafia.

Dazai considers him too much of a living being... but then again, he himself had dragged him into the mafia, manipulating Chuuya's friends from his former organization, the "Sheep," into betraying him by stabbing him with a knife laced with bloodsucking poison, so Dazai could easily lure him to the Port Mafia. Chuuya doesn't know this, and he's simply being used as well. Yet they work together as a duo, already dubbed "Double Black," a powerful duo of sheer devilish strength. Dazai loves to constantly prank Chuuya, to savor his anger... because Chuuya's anger seems so alive... that it's like something sacred to him.

Update: Even though Mori is incredibly cruel to Dazai, he still tries to raise him. And he considers him human. He even shows occasional moments of concern. Although this seems more like an abusive relationship.
