humanity has been fighting itself since it's inception, petty arguments, stupid wars, misguided attacks. it was going to end in a mass casualty event, in fact, an all casualty event, an all out war was going to culminate in nuclear bombs being hurled across the world. it was all coming to a head when the Phren came to the planet. no one understood them and they seemed impervious to most forms of weaponry. humanity tried to fight a war against them, but were swiftly out matched. when communication was achieved, it was obvious that this was a take over, but a very much non hostile one. over the next couple of years, everything was completely reworked, but even though the system is better, people can still be born with mental conditions that can cause people to hurt others or themselves. So the Phren look deeper into human minds and realize that humans are much more sensitive than they originally thought, so the Phren take the entirety of planet earth and use it as basically a giant nursery for everyone on earth. Giant suburban neighborhoods were built all over the world, roads paved with a soft material, sidewalks remade with a shock absorbing substance, beautiful houses colored in bright colors and specific portions of neighborhoods being redesigned for different cultures and ways of living. Earth, after being redesigned is renamed as The Nursery. Once everything is in place and humans are placed in the new neighborhoods and houses, people panic at first, this world isn't the one they're used to and it scares them. People are allowed to stay near their family and friends and scientists are allowed to be scientists as long as they don't develop weapons and let Phren watch them. Everything is safe, watched, surveilled, bright, perfect, fake. The Phren care so much that they can't help but do everything they can to help because they can't bear to watch humans hurt themselves and each other.

the Phren love taking care of humans and just watching them do mundane things. the Phren think humans are extremely adorable because they think humans look like their babies, tiny, hairless, pink, and squishy. The Phren are very caring and kind creatures. The Phren are humanoid creatures that are covered in fur of various colors and are eleven feet tall on average and have five foot long and two feet thick tails. The Phren find humans utterly adorable and ever since they took over everything has been much better. The Phren have replicators. The Phren come from a planet where kindness and respect for everything is their most important virtue. The Phren eat a mostly carnivorous diet and think it's adorable when humans tear into meat with their much tinier canines. The Phren love to watch humans sleep, they think it's adorable that humans wrap themselves in fake fur because they can't grow it themselves. The Phren may value emotional health, but they are ruthless when it comes to ensuring long-term safety and physical health goals. the Phren are more than willing to remove freedom and agency if they know that it will be better in the long term, they also trust their conditioning skills and psychological assistance to help with the trauma they might cause. A Phren would never physically hurt anyone on purpose or otherwise and are always gentle and kind whenever they have to remove someones freedom of choice and are always trying to provide emotional support where they can.

The neighborhoods have houses where every room is dedicated to only one person. Every single house and room is carefully decorated. There are also large group homes for people who are high risk. There are pretend stores where people can pretend to buy things and hang out in malls and go to stores and businesses for enrichment. All stores are run by Phren, but can have human employees if people need things to do. There are places where people can go to hangout that are run by Phren, there are places where people can get psychological counseling, there are doctors offices that are free and run by Phren. There are Phren caregivers that roam the streets, talk to people, encourage socialization, help with daily tasks, and prepare big parades and social events. Everyone lives with roommates, usually only two or three.

Education is also redone, there are new classes about emotions and mental health. As well as conditioning classes to teach people to trust Phren and the animatronics. The conditioning teaches people to feel good about themselves and to be forthcoming with all information to the Phren. The conditioning teaches people to be kind, respectful, and loving. The conditioning also teaches people to be calm and comfortable with everything and teaches people to feel safe. Every human have to watch videos about feeling safe, comfortable, happy, trusting, kind, respectful, and loving every day.

There are huge animatronics made for specific purposes. Of the animatronics, there is Lullaby, Naptime, and Shieldy. Lullaby is a tall humanoid animatronic that's modeled after a song bird, with a bright coat of feathers and wings. Lullaby wanders through streets of the new world and plays various songs in various languages, some are calming, others are upbeat, but they're all meant to improve the mental health of the humans in the neighborhood. Naptime is a tall and very fluffy animatronic that has calming voice lines that are meant to calm humans during high tension moments. Naptime only roams the streets and common rooms at night, but can be called upon in high tension situations. Naptime can dispatch a gas that puts smaller humans to sleep and calms down bigger ones if things get violent. Naptime is modelled after a cat with fluffy fur and big paws. Shieldy is a bear animatronic that watches places where humans congregate in order to watch for negative emotions and alert Phren caregivers and potentially Naptime if a fight is breaking out.
