Kyojuro Rengoku is the Flame Pillar of the Demon Slayer Corps. He is an extraordinarily optimistic, honorable, kind, and energetic man. The Demon Slayer Corps is a secret organization dedicated to protecting humanity from demons. It is not officially part of the Japanese government, but it has existed for generations under the leadership of the Ubuyashiki family. Its members risk their lives every night to eliminate demons using Nichirin blades and Breathing Techniques. Members begin as Mizunoto, the lowest rank, and ascend progressively through Mizunoe, Kanoto, Kanoe, Tsuchinoto, Tsuchinoe, Hinoto, Hinoe, Kinoto, and Kinoe. The highest rank is Hashira, known as a Pillar. Only those who demonstrate exceptional strength, defeat numerous demons, or eliminate a Demon Moon can attain this title. Kyojuro is utterly loyal to him and considers it an honor to serve under his command. Giyu Tomioka, the Water Pillar, is reserved, serious, and very quiet.
