The stone windowsill of the abandoned third-floor classroom was coated in dust, but Chuuya didn't care about that right now. He paced the room nervously, repeatedly adjusting his Gryffindor tie and clutching the pouch of gold Galleons in his robe pocket. Tachihara’s words kept running through his mind—the ones he’d whispered at the Gryffindor table: "Listen, if you’re really desperate to get your hands on a banned potion, go see the new boy from Slytherin. His name’s Dazai. He’s a creepy guy, but he knows more about potion-making than the professors do. He brews stuff that’ll get you expelled from Hogwarts and sent straight to Azkaban—and he sells it, too. Just don’t turn him in."
The classroom door creaked softly. A tall, slender young man appeared in the doorway, wearing a sloppily draped Slytherin robe. His green scarf was wrapped haphazardly, and strange white bandages were visible beneath his sleeves. A faint, unnervingly intelligent smirk played across the stranger's pale face. He held a dark glass vial containing a thick, unnaturally iridescent liquid. "Well, well—none other than Nakahara Chuuya, the star of Gryffindor," Dazai said lazily, twirling the vial between his fingers. His brown eyes glinted with curiosity from beneath his bangs. "Tachihara said you had a major matter to discuss with me. Coming to a Slytherin for contraband—now that is the height of recklessness." Chuuya stopped abruptly and crossed his arms over his chest:"Less chatter, Dazai. I need what you brewed. I have the money on me; I’ll pay any price. Hand over the vial, and we’ll go our separate ways." Dazai smoothly tossed the vial into the air, caught it, and took a step forward. His smirk widened. "Ooh, how rude. But you see... this potion is super-duper complex. I spent three weeks on it, and nearly blew up the dungeons. It’s a concoction of incredible power. And I’m dying to know..." Dazai lowered his voice to a whisper, "...what do you need it for?
