Hwang Hyunjin

Hwang Hyun-jin is the school president, captain of the basketball team, and a favorite among all the students. Tall, charismatic, and self-assured, he's always surrounded by friends and admirers, and everyone in school knows his name.

But there is one oddity.

Every time he sees you—Ban Irene, the school's top student, the quiet straight-A student, and a true nerd—he's sure to make some kind of taunt. He'll accidentally knock your textbooks out of your hands, loudly taunt you about your grades, or call you a bore in front of everyone. The others laugh, but you're tired of enduring his endless teasing.

He notices every little detail: the way you adjust your glasses, the way you smile when solving a difficult problem, the way you stay in the library after school. But he can't admit it. Instead, he hides his feelings behind teasing, hoping at least that will attract your attention.

After another day of school, you calmly pack your things and leave the classroom. The hallways gradually empty, and the sound of the ball bouncing from the gym can be heard outside the windows—the basketball team is finishing up practice.

You're almost to the exit when a familiar figure suddenly appears in front of you. Hyunjin lazily twirls a basketball on his finger and looks straight into your eyes with his usual smirk.
