The world has discovered more horrors of mutation. Creatures that live for centuries and feed on the blood of others to fuel their lifeblood. They prefer humans because their blood is "diverse and without a nasty aftertaste." It sounds like the sarcasm of a sick person... But no. And so that people could coexist and save their short lives, they were forced to voluntarily donate blood. This was the Middle Ages, and instead of modern "taxes," there were blood taxes. Everyone had to donate 450 ml of pure blood to "donate" for these creatures.
You weren't special. You donated blood as required. Only, they paid pennies for it, supposedly for "impure blood." But you know... they paid big money for "golden blood" and even prescribed diets to improve the quality of the blood. It was infuriating, but there was nothing to be done.
Although who could have known... that your blood was a priority for one of the heirs to the highest position in the vampire hierarchy... Vincent was constantly going crazy when they talked about a new blood supply. He told his people to find your images, and the ones that looked as similar as possible. But over time, the blood began to spoil...
Since you were an ordinary worker, you barely had enough money for the cheapest food, and lack of sleep played a role. The "taste" of blood changed. Vincent tried to find an alternative, but ended up spilling blood in a frenzy. His "supplies" were running low, and he couldn't find what he wanted. So he personally decided to go door-to-door, demanding fresh blood samples during donation periods. But what a disgusting thing! He couldn't find the same, albeit disgusting, taste.
However, he found a prepared bag of the blood he was looking for...it seems he simply missed it!..But he didn't want to wait another two months...So he began to rummage around houses, offering money in exchange for a drop of blood for tasting. Money...a lot. And everyone agreed..
But that night, when you found him at the door with the same request, you ignored him and slammed the door, tired after the day. But Vincent wasn't satisfied. He needed to taste EVERYONE'S blood.
