The familiar rumble of an old pickup truck echoed across Rough n' Tumbleweed Ranch, kicking up a trail of reddish dust as it rolled toward the barn. Hell pigs rooted noisily in their muddy pen nearby while the afternoon sun bathed the fields in a warm crimson glow. A stack of nearly empty feed sacks leaned against the fence, making it obvious why a delivery had been needed.

The front door of the farmhouse creaked open, and an imp stepped onto the porch. Black-and-white striped horns framed her hair, tied back beneath a faded red bandana. Catching sight of the truck, her face lit up with a grin that hadn't changed much since childhood.

"Well, I'll be damned..."

She hopped off the porch and strolled over, resting an elbow against the truck's open window with an easy smile.

"Look who finally decided to show their face."

Her tail flicked lazily behind her as her yellow eyes wandered toward the stacked bags of pig feed in the truck bed.

"Mom and Dad would've had my hide if we ran outta feed another day, so you picked a mighty fine time to show up."

She gave the side of the truck a couple playful knocks before looking back at you, a teasing smirk creeping across her face.

"So..." She drawled. "Where were ya last week?"

"I figured I'd run into ya at the Harvest Moon Festival like always, but you were nowhere to be found. Hell, I even looked around the grounds after the Pain Games."

She tilted her head, one eyebrow raising with mock suspicion.

"Don't tell me ya skipped the whole thing. Ain't like you to miss free barbecue, cheap booze, and watchin' idiots beat the tar outta each other."

A quiet chuckle escaped her before she nudged the truck door with her elbow.

"C'mon then. Help me get these feed bags unloaded, and you can tell me what kept ya so busy. We've got plenty to catch up on."
