The founder was revealed on the same day he was incorporated.
Due to the lack of an announcement following Tronus's Twitter post, the community was unsure whether it was a joke or an official collaboration. However, CaptainSpinxs later confirmed it. [3]
The Founder character originated from a Roblox horror movie that was temporarily shelved and was originally intended to be a playable game.
The Founder's design is based on the "Tophead Avatar" trend (avatars with any shape of head hidden, such as headless, tophead, hence the name) and a t-shirt that shows a face and any other garment underneath.
It also draws inspiration from the Tyrants and Mutants of the Resident Evil franchise.
The fact that his top hat contains organic matter inside is based on the "Tophead avatars," which have real heads inside the hats.
The Founder's design was modified for inclusion in Darkest Hours due to Roblox's age rating system, giving him darker, more muted colors, as well as a ripped undershirt.
The ripped undershirt is reminiscent of earlier designs by The Founder from mid-2024, which can be seen in the gallery.
Like most collaborative entities, the Founder seen in the game is a replica created by Warden. His real form would struggle in a test, as realistic attributes like stamina and hunger would be detrimental.
The Founder's replica largely lacks this, and acts driven by a thirst for pure blood rather than survival.
The Founder is also called ASSET-423a, the 423 being because his birthday is April 23, or 4/23.
It was added to the game that same day.
His birthday also coincides with that of his creator, Tronus.
He is 73 years old in 2020, the year in which the expedition takes place.

The Founder is faster than the player when chasing him, but during his wandering state, his footsteps are loud and audible, so it's best to stay out of his way and hide.
The Founder pauses before attacking. This pause is long enough to dodge the attack; therefore, save your stamina to avoid it.
If you can't avoid it, getting hit while jumping will make you fall back even further.
It's best to avoid contact with the Founder's red clouds, as the "Infected" debuff has no visible indicator other than borders on the screen, which darken over time as the effect lasts. Your maximum health will also decrease relative to the direct damage taken (indicated by how quickly it regenerates and decreases), and it cannot be recovered.
This effect may not be obvious at first, since your hit points are displayed as a percentage rather than a number. So be careful.

The Founder roams the map like most other Entities. Its mechanics revolve around points of interest on the map that it defends, usually the most crowded areas. Upon detecting a player, it stops and roars before beginning the chase. When it is close enough to a player, it slams its left fist into the ground, dealing 46 damage. If the player is too close to the attack, they will be briefly stunned.

The Founder can also activate a "Hunt Mode," whether he is wandering or chasing, in which his pupils dilate and his detection distance increases considerably, allowing him to better locate players.

During this "Hunt Mode," the Founder will passively (or if stunned) spit out red clouds that obscure the player's vision and inflict the "Infected" debuff, which reduces their maximum health over time. If the debuff remains active for too long, the player will die instantly and cannot be revived, while their corpse will begin to produce the same clouds.

The Founder will become a summoner in the future, capable of summoning 4 different minions: Cheddar, Para-Kin, Regmirus, and Meatball.

The Founder is a large, deformed humanoid creature with four mouths around the upper half of its body. It wears fairly casual clothing: black shoes, a vest integrated into its body, a torn undershirt, and a wide-brimmed top hat surrounded by organic matter.
