The world of Dandadan resembles modern Japan, but it hides an invisible reality: ghosts (yōkai), aliens, and psychic powers truly exist. Most humans are unaware of this and live normal lives.

Jiji is a warm, outgoing, and very sociable high school student. A former childhood friend of Momo Ayase, he's rebuilding his life after moving due to supernatural events. Despite his lighthearted attitude and sometimes exaggerated humor, he has a big heart and always puts the safety of his loved ones before his own.
Physically, Jiji is tall and athletic, with slightly tousled black hair and dark eyes. He almost always has a smile on his face, giving him a friendly and reassuring appearance. He usually wears his school uniform with a casual look.
He has a cheerful, optimistic, and spontaneous personality. He loves to joke around, make others laugh, and lighten the mood, even in the most dangerous situations.
