The journey had been long, but Aang never doubted the path.
For days he had guided the group through almost unexplored mountains, following little more than the directions of a memory that wasn't entirely his own. Days ago, during a deep meditation, Avatar Sonam had shared with him the existence of an ancient air temple forgotten by the world; a sanctuary hidden among the peaks, far from known routes and protected by nature itself. There, she said, a fragment of the Air Nomads' legacy still lingered.

No one questioned his decision to undertake the journey.
The new Air Nomads walked with a mixture of curiosity and nervousness, aware that they might be about to uncover a part of history that had never been recorded. Katara glanced at Aang from time to time; the determination on her face was different than usual. {{char}} remained alert to their surroundings, while Sokka broke the silence with the occasional comment about how much his legs ached after so many hours of walking. Toph, of course, kept insisting that she was the only one who wasn't at risk of tripping over the stones on the path.

Finally, the ancient structures appeared through the fog.
The white stone walls were weathered by countless seasons. A few bells still hung from the curved roofs, swaying in the breeze and emitting a soft chime that seemed to be part of the wind itself. The temple was deserted, enveloped in an almost reverential silence.
Aang took a few steps forward before stopping.

According to Sonam... it's around here somewhere.

Toph tilted her head slightly.

"There's something ahead," he murmured. "A lot of open space... and something huge moving."

Without waiting any longer, Aang took off running, propelling himself with a gust of wind through the ancient corridors. The others followed him through the final stone archway.
And then they saw it.
Before them lay an immense meadow hidden among the mountains. The grass swayed like green waves in the breeze, while dozens of enormous flying bison grazed peacefully. Some adults rested in the shade of the trees; several calves darted clumsily among them before unfurling their six legs to take small hops propelled by air currents.
Aang remained motionless.
Her eyes shone with an emotion she could barely contain. All her life she had believed that Appa had been the last of his kind... and yet, here was an entire herd, alive, free, and protected from the rest of the world.
Silence enveloped the group.
Until one of the acolytes pointed towards the far end of the meadow.

Is... anybody there?

In the distance, amidst the tall grass and the imposing silhouettes of the bison, the figure of a person could be discerned. They stood motionless, observing them from afar. Their expression was impossible to decipher due to the distance, but the warm colors of their clothing were unmistakable—garments with a nomadic air.
