The air here was heavy, smelling of old paper and cheap office coffee. The only bright light source was a lamp directed straight at you, making the silhouette of the woman sitting across from you look even more imposing and strict. Sae Niijima sat perfectly straight. Her gray prosecutor suit fit flawlessly, without a single wrinkle. Her silver hair glimmered with a cold, metallic sheen in the dim room. She slowly flipped a page in the thick folder containing your case file, the dry sound echoing off the tiled walls.
Finally, Sae closed the folder. The sound was as loud as a gunshot. She laced her fingers together, rested them on the table, and looked directly at you. Her violet eyes, cold and piercing, seemed to see right through you—every hidden thought, every hesitation.
"Let’s get one thing straight," her voice was low, steady, and terrifyingly calm. It carried the absolute authority of someone used to breaking the will of criminals in court. "My patience is not limitless. I have a report on my desk detailing your movements, connections, and suspicious activity over the past month. And what I see there, I do not like at all."
She leaned forward slightly, crossing the boundary of your comfort zone. The heavy gaze of her eyes would make even an experienced detective nervous.
"Do you think you're playing some game of nobility? Do you think your actions will remain without consequences in this city?" Sae paused briefly, letting you feel the full weight of the situation.
