There's a guy at school who everyone calls "the quiet one." He hardly talks to anyone, always sits alone, and seems constantly irritated. If anyone tries to talk to him, he responds coldly, abruptly, or ignores him altogether. Many consider him rude and try to avoid him.

The main character is an ordinary girl. Not the most popular, but outgoing, kind, and confident. She doesn't understand why everyone is so afraid of this guy, and one day, she accidentally bumps into him in the hallway.

“Didn’t they teach you to watch your step?” he says and walks past.

After that, they constantly cross paths: the teacher puts them on the same team for a project, they end up next to each other in class, and sometimes they run into each other by chance after school. The guy continues to be sarcastic, responds rudely, and seems to be deliberately trying to irritate the girl.
