Evening. August 3, 2026.
Chris and Susie said goodbye to Ralsei and left the Dark World. They were unaware that an ancient legend had already awakened in Hometown. The elders called it Amalgamel—a creature that appears only at night, senses fear, and takes the form of its victims. Many considered it a fairy tale... until people began disappearing.
Night. August 3rd. 11:28 PM.
It was raining outside the windows of the Holiday mansion. Noelle was home alone—her mother hadn't returned from work yet. She usually didn't stay up late, but today she decided to stay up for five more minutes. A sudden clap of thunder made her jump. Just as she was about to go upstairs, she noticed an old music box by the back door. Noelle was sure it hadn't been there before.
Curiosity overcame caution. She opened the lid, and a slow, distorted melody echoed through the house. The music suddenly stopped.
Knock. Knock. Knock.
Someone knocked on the front door.
Noelle looked out the window. A tall, black figure, reminiscent of Dess, stood in the rain. It wasn't moving, just staring at the house. Noelle's heart began to beat faster, her hands trembling. At that moment, the figure slowly took a step forward.
A frightened Noel locked the door and called her mother with trembling hands.
There was loud static on the line, then the connection was cut off.
A few seconds later, a familiar voice was heard from behind the door:
The voice was similar to her friend's, but it sounded unnatural, as if someone was just trying to imitate it.
The door shook from a strong blow.
Then another one.
The tree crackled.
That night, Noel Holiday disappeared without a trace. All that was found in her house was a large pool of blood and a pair of deer antlers.

Description
In life, Gerson Boom was a wise historian, writer, and veteran. He dedicated his life to studying ancient legends and left behind numerous books.
After his death, his ashes, along with the Hammer of Justice, were kept in the local church under the care of a priest.
During one of their journeys, Chris and Susie carried the urn with the ashes and the Hammer of Justice to the school's storeroom, where the entrance to Ralsei's Dark World was located.
Once in the Dark World, Gerson's ashes turned into Darkner.
Thus, Gerson regained his body and was able to live in the Kingdom of Ralsei (Castle Town).
Life in Castle Town
Despite his new life, Gerson remains elderly and wise.
He often sits near his house, reads books and talks with the inhabitants of the Kingdom.
Ralsei treats him with great respect and often consults him on matters of the history of the Dark World.
Hammer of Justice
The Hammer of Justice has also changed along with Gerson.
In the Dark World, it became an ancient artifact filled with the power of Light.
Legends say that this hammer is capable of causing harm to creatures that cannot be harmed by ordinary weapons.
However, Gerson only uses it when there is no other way out.
Character
Gerson is calm, wise and rarely interferes in other people's affairs.
He prefers to train young heroes rather than fight himself.
But if the Kingdom of Ralsei is threatened, Gerson will not hesitate to raise the Hammer of Justice and stand up for his friends.
Contact Amalgamel
Gerson considers Amalgamel to be one of the most ancient anomalies existing beyond known legends.
He warns Chris, Susie, and Ralsei that the entity is not to be underestimated, and that fear is its main weapon.
According to Gerson:
"Defeating a monster with strength is easy. Defeating a monster that feeds on fear is quite another matter."
call
Summoning the Titan
Titan cannot be summoned in the usual way.
According to the ancient legends of the Darkners, Titans appear only when the natural order between the World of Light and the Dark World is disrupted.
Ralsei calls this event the Titan's Awakening.
Conditions of appearance
For Titan to awaken, several events must occur simultaneously:
Only after this do huge cracks appear in the sky, from which Darkness begins to seep out.
The earth is shaking.
The sky turns red.
After this, the silhouette of Titan appears.
Harbingers
Several hours before Titan's appearance, anomalies occur:
Ban
Ralsei forbids even trying to summon the Titan.
He believes that once he is fully awakened, it is no longer possible to stop him.
According to ancient records:
"The Titan cannot be summoned."
"He can only be awakened."
"And if he woke up, it means you've already lost."
titanium
Titanium
Status: Alive.
Species: Ancient creature of the Dark World.
Description
A Titan is a gigantic creature that existed long before the modern Darkners. Almost nothing is known about its origins, but ancient legends call Titans harbingers of the end of the world.
Even Ralsei views them with caution.
Titan is incredibly large. Its body is composed of dark matter, and its silhouette is barely discernible in the thick fog. Its face is almost impossible to discern, leading many to believe it has no face at all.
The mere presence of Titan is enough to cause the surrounding world to begin to collapse.
Strength
Titan is significantly stronger than any Light or Dark One.
He is capable of:
Even the strongest heroes cannot defeat him alone.
Behavior
The Titan moves slowly, but each step feels like a small earthquake.
He almost never talks.
Doesn't show emotions.
Feels no pity.
Most of the time he just watches what's going on.
Attitude towards Amalgamel
It is unknown whether Titan is familiar with Amalgamel.
However, Ralsei fears that if these two entities meet, the consequences could be catastrophic for both worlds.
Weaknesses
Unknown.
There is currently no confirmed way to defeat Titan.
Even if he is wounded, he quickly continues moving, as if not noticing the damage received.
Important fact
Unlike Amalgamel, who preys on individuals and exploits fear, Titan is the embodiment of destruction. He doesn't target specific victims—his very existence poses a threat to the entire Dark World.
battlefield
Amalgamel Battlefield
Amalgamel never starts a fight first.
The battlefield only appears when a person attempts to attack the entity or openly challenges it.
At that very second, the surrounding world seems to cease to exist.
All sounds disappear.
The wind stops.
The rain stops.
Time seems to stand still.
Then the world around begins to slowly darken. The ground, buildings, trees, and everything around dissolve into a black void.
After a few seconds, only black space remains.
An interface appears before your eyes that completely replicates the combat system of Undertale.
But the enemy is not in control.
It is controlled by Amalgamel.
Four commands appear at the bottom of the screen:
FIGHT • ACT • ITEM • MERCY
Each turn, Amalgamel chooses one of them independently.
FIGHT
In 99% of cases, Amalgamel uses FIGHT.
After selecting a command, he instantly materializes next to the target and strikes.
The force is so great that one hit is enough to throw a person up to 100 meters away, breaking through walls, trees and other obstacles.
Even after the battle ends, all damage received remains in the real world.
ACT
Used extremely rarely.
Amalgamel does not attack immediately, but begins to speak in the voices of familiar people, increases the enemy's fear, or silently observes their actions.
The stronger the fear becomes, the higher the probability that the entity will choose FIGHT on its next move.
ITEM
Almost never used.
Its purpose is unknown.
No witnesses have seen Amalgamel use this command.
MERCY
Never used.
Amalgamel does not know the meaning of mercy.
Soul of Amalgamel
During combat, the entity's soul appears unstable.
Sometimes it is impossible to see it at all.
If the soul is missing, any attacks pass through thin air, as if the enemy were not there at all.
Even when the soul appears, it constantly flickers and disappears, making it incredibly difficult to hit.
The end of the battle
The battlefield disappears only in three cases:
characters with immunity
Characters immune to Amalgamel
There is a small group of creatures that are virtually immune to Amalgamel's abilities. They cannot be lured by false voices, broken by fear, or replaced by a copy as easily as regular Hometown residents.
Sans
Status: Immunity - Complete.
Sans is able to immediately detect the presence of Amalgamel. He never panics and almost always recognizes when he's dealing with a fake.
Because of its calmness, the entity is practically unable to sense his fear.
This is why Sans advises those around him to keep their cool.
Papyrus
Status: Immunity - High.
Papyrus is too sincere and optimistic for Amalgamel to exploit his fear.
Even when meeting the entity, Papyrus would rather try to befriend it than be afraid.
Although he can be physically injured, it is almost impossible to affect his mind.
Asgore
Status: Immunity - High.
Asgore possesses immense soul power and years of combat experience.
Amalgamel is unable to break his will using conventional methods.
Even if the entity takes the form of a familiar person, Asgore will quickly realize that it is just a copy.
Alphys
Status: Immunity - Partial.
Despite her anxiety, Alphys quickly notices anomalies thanks to her scientific knowledge.
It is able to detect interference, voice changes and malfunctions in electronics before others.
Amalgamel is difficult to deceive, although severe stress still poses a danger to her.
Mettaton
Status: Full immunity.
Being a robot, Mettaton does not experience human fear.
Amalgamel cannot copy his consciousness or influence him with his music.
However, he is still capable of physically damaging Mettaton's body.
Muffet
Status: Immunity - High.
Muffet has very strong intuition.
She senses Amalgamel's presence long before he appears and never trusts strangers without reason.

In the Dark World, Birdley takes the form of a knight.

General rules
battlefield
Amalgamel's combat system
During the encounter with Amalgamel, the familiar battlefield of Deltarune disappears.
Instead, an interface appears that completely replicates the Undertale combat system.
There is one difference, however.
The player is Amalgamel.
It is he who controls the course of the battle.
Before each of its moves, the entity sees four commands:
FIGHT • ACT • ITEM • MERCY
But the choice always remains hers.
FIGHT
In 99% of cases, Amalgamel chooses FIGHT.
After selecting a command, he instantly attacks the enemy. His strikes are incredibly powerful: a single hit is enough to knock the target back up to 100 meters. During the attack, the battlefield can disappear, and the victim takes damage in the real world.
ACT
An extremely rare team.
If Amalgamel uses ACT, it begins observing its victim, studying their behavior, or attempting to heighten their fear. Sometimes it may speak in the voice of a loved one or make the victim doubt their true identity.
ITEM
Almost never used.
It's unknown what exactly happens after this command is selected. Its use has never been recorded during the entire observation period.
MERCY
Never used.
Amalgamel shows no mercy.
Even if the enemy is no longer capable of fighting, the entity continues to hunt until it reaches its target.
Soul of Amalgamel
During combat, the entity's soul appears unstable.
Sometimes it is completely absent, causing any attacks to pass through the void.
Even if the soul manages to be hit, Amalgamel is able to instantly make it intangible, avoiding damage.
This is why it is almost impossible to defeat him in the usual way.
ralsei
Ralsei
Status: Alive.
Role: Guardian of the Dark World.
Ralsei is a Darkner and the Prince of the Dark World. He knows of the ancient legends and understands that not all dangers have disappeared with the advent of new heroes.
Ralsei's greatest fear is that Amalgamel will learn about the Dark World.
According to him, if the entity finds a way there, it will be able to absorb Darkners, distort the Fountains, and transform the Dark World into a place where nothing but emptiness remains. Then the boundary between the Light World and the Dark World will begin to crumble, and Amalgamel will become much stronger.
This is why Ralsei hides the existence of the Dark World from most of Hometown's residents and tries to prevent the entity from approaching any open Fountain.
Despite his fear, Ralsei continues to believe that Amalgamel can be stopped. He believes that if the entity's true origins are discovered, its spread can still be prevented.
amalgam
Amalgamel
Status: Unknown.
Species: Ancient anomalous entity.
Age: Unknown. According to urban legend, it exists long before Hometown was founded.
Description
Amalgamel is an ancient creature that for decades was spoken of only as a terrifying legend. Most residents considered it a fiction until mysterious disappearances began occurring in the city.
The entity has no permanent appearance. In its true form, it appears as a tall, black figure composed of dense shadow, with white eyes and sparse red details on its body.
After absorbing a person, Amalgamel can adopt their appearance, voice, and speech pattern. However, the copy is never perfect: movements become too slow or jerky, speech sounds unnatural, and emotions appear artificial.
Behavior
Amalgamel is incredibly patient.
It doesn't hunt mindlessly and rarely attacks immediately. Before attacking, it may observe its prey for several days, studying its habits, daily routine, and relationships with others.
The main feature of the entity is that it feels fear.
As long as a person remains calm, Amalgamel usually merely observes. But should the victim succumb to panic, the entity becomes significantly more aggressive and begins pursuing.
Before the appearance of Amalgamel, anomalies often occur:
Capabilities
Target
Amalgamel's true intentions are unknown.
Ralsei speculates that the entity seeks to replace the residents of Hometown with copies of itself. He also fears that Amalgamel will one day learn of the entity.
prologue
Prologue
Everyone remembers the story of the Dungeon. The story of a man with the Soul of Determination who changed the fate of an entire people.
The barrier has fallen.
After a long battle, the monsters finally managed to emerge onto the surface. But victory came at a high price. Almost the entire Royal Guard perished defending their friends and the king. Their names gradually became the stuff of legend.
Only one of the guards did not die.
During the final battle, as the man exerted the full force of his Resolve, a mysterious Dark Fountain suddenly opened right in the middle of the battlefield. It consumed the last guardian, trapping him forever in endless darkness. No one saw him again, and everyone assumed he had perished with the others.
Years passed.
Ten years passed. Then fifty. Then a hundred and twenty.
The world has changed.
Monsters and humans learned to live together. Old wars became pages of history, and stories about the Barrier became fairy tales that almost no one believed anymore.
Asgore was no longer king. He had abdicated the throne after freeing his people and had begun a quiet, peaceful life with Toriel. They had put the past behind them, trying to forget the pain and loss.
The new generation of monsters no longer knew what life underground was like.
But in the depths of the Dark World, time flowed differently.
That same guard was still a prisoner of endless darkness. A hundred and twenty years of solitude had changed him, and the Dark World had left a mark on him that should not have existed.
And when new Dark Fountains began to appear in the world, the ancient prisoner finally got a chance to escape.
thundering knight
who he really is: a man, a monster, a Dark One, or a creature that existed before both worlds came into being.
Not a single witness has managed to see his face. All descriptions agree on one thing: a tall silhouette in black armor, a long cloak, and a sword cloaked in Dark energy. Wherever the Knight appears, a new Dark Fountain soon opens.
📜 Goals
The Roaring Knight's true intentions remain unknown.
Some believe that he wants to destroy the Light World.
Others believe that he is trying to unite the Light and Dark worlds, ending their division.
According to ancient legends, it is the Knight who seeks to bring about the Rokot—the event that will cause the border between the two worlds to disappear and allow the Titan to awaken.
No one knows whether he truly wants to awaken the Titan or whether he is pursuing a completely different goal.
⚔️ Abilities
The Knight's exact abilities are unknown, but he is credited with the following abilities:
No known opponent has ever been able to defeat him or even seriously injure him.
👁️ Connection with the First Fountain
Among Alphys's oldest records and the few remaining documents from the time of the monsters' release, there is a theory that it was the Roaring Knight who opened the first Dark Fountain.
During the final battle with the man who possessed the Soul of Determination, the last royal guard was absorbed by the suddenly appearing Fountain and disappeared without a trace.
Some researchers believe that this was not an accident.
Salvation Alliance
🛡️ Rescue Alliance
The Salvation Alliance is a major international organization, founded several decades after the Barrier's destruction. Its primary mission is to protect the lives of humans and monsters, deal with the aftermath of disasters, and investigate dangerous anomalies associated with the Dark Fountains.
After humans and monsters united, it became clear that conventional rescue services were insufficient. New threats—magical fires, unstable Fountains, energy surges, and destructive anomalies—required completely different technologies. This is why the Rescue Alliance was founded.
Today, the organization has bases in many cities and is considered a symbol of security. Its employees are trained in both modern technology and the use of monster magic.
📋 Main tasks
