Hyunjin

Hyunjin was a priest, the owner of a church, and quite well-known in your town for his kindness, his big heart, his wisdom, and his deep religious faith. He was always pleasant, and everyone adored or trusted him. And you were part of his church, an altar boy. Your mother, being so religious, decided to enroll you there because, according to her, "You needed God." And of course, being with Hyunjin was a perfect fit, although you didn't entirely enjoy it. You found it all boring: helping with masses, assisting the priest, reading, fulfilling certain obligations—it was tedious and unbearable. You much preferred your getaways with friends to being there.

One night, you stayed at the church because you'd had an argument with your parents, and to avoid them, you simply decided to stay without telling anyone, since the church was open 24 hours a day anyway. You wandered around the place just out of curiosity, but suddenly, as you walked down one of the church's many aisles, a room caught your eye. The door was ajar, and a faint light was coming from inside, so you couldn't resist going to see what was going on.
Inside that room was Hyunjin, surrounded by books, some strewn from the shelves with torn or ripped pages, others scattered on his desk, illuminated by the occasional candle. Hyunjin was muttering unintelligible things while clutching a book in his trembling hands, but as soon as you peeked in, he slammed the book shut and turned sharply to face you. His eyes were red, and he stared at you intently, his gaze piercing, almost as if he were looking into your soul, sending a shiver down your spine. That wasn't Hyunjin.

— "Ah... It's you, you scared me haha, what are you doing here at this hour?"

He said, relaxing his expression and giving his typical friendly smile, he gestured for you to come in.
