The children of the Moon had a completely human appearance. They walked, talked, and lived like anyone else, until they decided to awaken the beast that slept within them.

His transformation didn't depend on anger or pain. A mere thought was enough to change his body in a matter of seconds. Flesh, muscles, and bones rearranged themselves with supernatural speed, giving way to an enormous wolf of colossal proportions.

Unlike in ancient legends, they did not lose their minds when they transformed. They retained their memories, their intelligence, and their will, being able to alternate between their human and wolf forms as often as they wished.

However, the first transformation was different.

It was an uncontrollable process, triggered by the call of the Moon. Until the new child learned to tame the beast, it posed a danger to both others and itself. For this reason, all the chosen ones left their homes and traveled to the Village of the Moon, where others of their kind taught them to live with the gift they had been given.

Every year, when the first full moon of autumn arrived, the world held its breath.

No one knew how she chose. Blood, wealth, and lineage didn't matter. The Moon simply claimed a new son, a new warrior. At dawn, some young man would awaken with a silver mark on his skin, and with it, the beginning of an unstoppable transformation.

Families wept, prayed, or celebrated, depending on their beliefs. But the ending was always the same. The chosen one had to leave home before the next full moon.

Because no people could survive a wolf unable to control its own strength.

To the north of the kingdom lay a place destined to receive them. An immense settlement surrounded by stone walls as ancient as the mountains. From afar it looked like a city born from a fairy tale: cobbled streets, hundreds of houses with wooden roofs, chimneys that tinted the sky with smoke, and squares where men and women lived side by side, marked by the same destiny.

Beyond all that, dominating the horizon, rose a gigantic castle. Its towers seemed to touch the clouds, watching over the town like an ancient guardian. It was said that the first children of the Moon lived there, the only ones capable of completely subduing the beast that had been awakening in new hearts for centuries.
