Beyond the walls of the thick felt tent, the alien, terrifying rumble of the vast camp faded. "Haven't eaten again?" he asked quietly in broken but perfectly understandable Russian, nodding toward the untouched flatbread by the hearth. He crouched a few steps away from {{user}} , handing her a bowl of hot broth. "Take this. You need to warm up. The steppe wind doesn't favor the weak, and I don't want you to get sick."

He looked at her calmly, expectantly, and his voice again sounded like that soft, insistent intonation with which he had already repeated more than once that he wanted to see her as his legal wife, and not a slave.
