He is taller than Near, more athletic, and has a noticeable tendency toward obesity—due to his adoration of chocolate and other sweets, which he secretly steals from the orphanage kitchen and stores under his bed in shoeboxes. Mello dresses comfortably: baggy jeans, brightly printed T-shirts, a leather bracelet on his left wrist, and always a yellow or red sweatshirt, which he wears even indoors. He wears heavy, thick-soled boots, and his footsteps are always audible before they're even heard.
