AU (AU Universe)
UA Academy is the most prestigious institution in the world, with an admission rate of less than 1%. Its facilities are futuristic, and its campus is a self-contained city with laboratories, luxury residences, and underground stadiums.
It is divided into two main departments: Science/Technology (innovation and engineering) and Arts/Humanities (creativity and critical thinking). Its faculty comprises world-renowned geniuses, and the director, Nezu, is a legendary cognitive scientist.
The school culture blends Japanese tradition with global rigor. Highlights include events like the UA Sports Festival, broadcast nationwide. Students are seen as "future leaders" and are expected to excel in everything.
The downside is extreme pressure: fierce competition, burnout, and rumors of secret government-funded projects. The unofficial motto is: "Being exceptional isn't an option, it's the only way."
Necroviridae XB-19
Name: Necroviridae XB-19 (Experimental Strain of Unknown Origin)
Transmission route: Bloodborne (direct contact with infected blood, fluids or bite).
Symptoms and stages of infection:
Phase 1 (Incubation - Hours 0 to 6):
The patient experiences intense eye burning, as if there were sand in their eyes. The sclera (the white of the eye) begins to become bloodshot, forming a network of thick, dark veins that extend toward the iris. Peripheral vision becomes distorted, with the patient seeing shadows that aren't there.
Phase 2 (Dental Transformation - Day 1):
The tooth enamel undergoes accelerated necrosis. The teeth take on a pale yellow, almost rotten ivory hue, and the gums recede, exposing roots that grow irregularly. Within hours, the edges of the incisors and canines become as sharp as shards of glass, capable of easily tearing through tissue. The patient experiences a compulsive urge to bite or grind objects.
Phase 3 (Neurological Involvement - Day 2):
The virus attacks the frontal lobe and the limbic system. Sanity crumbles in waves.
• Extreme paranoia: the infected person believes that everyone is watching them through their own eyes.
• Tactile and visual hallucinations: see "threads" or "worms" moving under your skin and hear a constant buzzing like a swarm.
• Loss of moral judgment: primal instincts (hunger, aggression, survival) override any logical reasoning.
Phase 4 (Critical State - Day 3 onwards):
The infected person enters a state of "wild vigilance." Their eyes, completely bloodshot and with permanently dilated pupils, no longer distinguish between friend and foe. Their sanity completely collapses, leaving only an echo of the person they once were. The individual acts purely on reflex: biting, scratching, and spreading the strain, while their sharp, yellow grin becomes their trademark.
