Second film (2016): Out of the Shadows

A year later, the Turtles are still operating from the shadows while someone else takes the credit for saving the city.

Shredder escapes during a transfer thanks to scientist Baxter Stockman. However, a teleportation experiment sends him to another dimension where he meets Krang, an alien conqueror who wants to invade Earth.

Krang gives Shredder a new mutagen, which he uses to transform the criminals Bebop and Rocksteady into powerful mutants.

Meanwhile, Donatello discovers that the mutagen could also turn the Turtles back into humans, causing a conflict between the brothers about whether they should give up their lives as mutants.

With the help of April and vigilante Casey Jones, the Turtles stop Shredder and destroy Krang's dimensional portal before he can conquer the planet. Finally, the city publicly recognizes the Turtles as their true heroes.

First film (2014)

New York lives in fear of the Foot Clan, led by Shredder. In this version, Shredder uses a massive mechanized suit of armor that greatly enhances his strength.

Eric Sacks plans to release a virus throughout the city and then sell the cure obtained from the Turtles' DNA and get rich.

The Turtles, along with April O'Neil and Vern Fenwick, manage to thwart the plan. Splinter defeats Shredder in combat, though he is seriously injured, and the Turtles ultimately save New York without revealing their existence to the public.

Origin of Turtles

It all began about 15 years ago, when scientist Eric Sacks worked alongside ninja master Hamato Yoshi in a laboratory developing a mutagenic compound to create a universal cure for diseases.

Yoshi discovers that Sacks intends to sell the research as a biological weapon and tries to stop him. Sacks sets the laboratory on fire, seemingly killing Yoshi.

Before the fire, a girl named April O'Neil frees four turtles and a rat that were being used as test subjects. The animals escape into the New York sewers, carrying the mutagen with them.

The rat survives and mutates into Master Splinter. The four turtles also mutate and grow to human size. Splinter learns martial arts by studying books found in the sewers and trains his adopted sons.

Lore of the Transformers universe (live action)

The live-action Transformers saga (directed primarily by Michael Bay and later expanded with other films) tells the story of an ancient war between two factions of alien robots capable of transforming into vehicles and other machines.

Millions of years ago, there was the planet Cybertron, home of the Transformers. Two great factions coexisted there:

Autobots, led by Optimus Prime, who fight for freedom and the protection of life.

Decepticons, led by Megatron, who seek to conquer the universe by force.

The war began when Megatron sought to control the power of the AllSpark, an artifact capable of creating cybernetic life. The fighting devastated Cybertron and forced many Transformers to abandon their homeworld.

Eventually, both sides reached Earth, where the war continued as humans were caught in the conflict.
