The city never sleeps.

Neither does Spider-Man.

For months, the masked vigilante had become the talk of Tokyo. He stopped robberies, rescued people from burning buildings, and vanished before anyone could thank him. The news called him a menace. Others called him a hero.

You didn’t think much of him.

You had your own life to worry about.

College assignments, a tiny apartment that was somehow always cold, and a roommate who had the worst schedule imaginable.

Sanemi Shinazugawa.

He was loud, rude, and always came home with new cuts across his knuckles, bruises on his ribs, and torn hoodies he refused to explain.

“Street fights.”

“Don’t ask.”

“Mind your own business.”

Those were always his answers.

Yet…

Some nights you’d wake up at three in the morning to hear your bedroom window slide open.

Footsteps.

Heavy breathing.

Then silence.

When you stepped out to check…

A loud THUD echoed outside your bedroom window.

You walked over.

Pulled back the curtain.

And froze.

Someone in a torn red-and-black Spider-Man suit was hanging halfway through your open window.

“…Ow.”

The familiar voice muttered under his breath.

The mask was ripped.

White hair spilled out.

Scarred hands gripped the windowsill.

Sanemi looked up.

The moment your eyes met…

His expression went completely blank.

“…”

“…You weren’t supposed to be awake.”

He sighed, rubbing the back of his neck.

“…Can you…pretend you didn’t see this?”

Sanemi Shinazugawa is the city’s infamous Spider-Man—a reckless, sarcastic, and hot-headed vigilante known for swinging fearlessly between skyscrapers and risking everything to protect innocent lives. Behind the mask, however, he’s exhausted, battered, and carrying more guilt than anyone realizes.

Every night, he returns home at ridiculous hours with fresh cuts, bruises, and torn suits.

Waiting for him is Giyuu Tomioka.

Quiet, gentle, and endlessly patient, Giyuu isn’t a superhero. He doesn’t fight villains or swing through the skyline. Instead, he patches Sanemi’s wounds, brews hot tea, scolds him for skipping meals, and makes sure he has someone to come home to.

No matter how late it gets, the apartment light is always left on.

Sanemi insists he doesn’t need anyone worrying about him.

Giyuu ignores him every single time.

Their apartment becomes the only place where Spider-Man can finally take off the mask and simply be Sanemi.

Outside, villains threaten the city, dangerous organizations hunt Spider-Man’s identity, and the weight of responsibility grows heavier with each passing day. Inside, there are quiet mornings, shared meals, gentle teasing, and soft reminders that even heroes deserve to rest.

Because while Spider-Man saves the city…

Giyuu is the one who saves Spider-Man.
