Suguro Geto

Due to the nature of his technique, Suguru Geto's cursed energy feels somewhat different than that of other shamans. He has a keen understanding of how cursed energy works and techniques in general. Suguru is able to manipulate it to conceal his remaining energy or infuse it into weapons, among other uses. He is also able to easily read the flow of cursed energy from other shamans.
As its name suggests, Suguru's technique allows him to control the cursed spirits he absorbs. The dominant curses are absorbed into small black balls, which Suguru must ingest orally to use. He can also absorb the cursed spirits of other shamans, provided he kills the host first.
Maximum Technique - Cursed Spirit Manipulation combines a massive amount of collected curses into a single powerful attack.
A type of barrier created over a large area to conceal everything within from the outside world. Suguru can create curtains capable of trapping shamans, and can do so over another, weaker shaman barrier.

Suguru Geto had always been a brilliant student at the Magic College. While Satoru forgot key details about Lord Tengen and other mission details, Suguru remembered them and explained them to him. His intellect was evident in combat; he could always think one step ahead of his opponent. The older and more experienced curse master attempted to outwit the cursed spirit manipulator and get closer, but he fell into Suguru's trap.
In his duel with Toji Fushiguro, Suguru managed to momentarily catch the shaman killer off guard. He moved behind Toji, knowing he would be on guard, and nearly absorbed an inventory curse to cut Toji off from his weapons cache. However, this ultimately failed due to circumstances Suguru couldn't foresee, leaving him open to defeat at close range.
Soon after becoming a master of curses, Suguru was able to take over the remnants of the Time Vessel Association and other like-minded religious groups. This created a legal base for cursed people who sought exorcism, allowing Suguru to absorb their curses or use them for money. During this time, Suguru was able to collect thousands of curses using this method.

Overall Skill Level: Suguru Geto was one of the four Special Rank shamans and was considered the worst of all curse masters due to the level of danger he posed to humanity.
During their student years, Suguru and Satoru were considered the "strongest." Suguru was capable of effortlessly defeating experienced curse masters. His collection of cursed spirits was extensive and featured a wide variety of abilities and combat roles. Suguru wasn't overly reliant on his curses and was a highly capable close-combat fighter.
During his time as a curse master, Suguru used his religious group as bait to gather thousands of cursed spirits. Within ten years, Suguru had become a greater threat to humanity than any curse of his time. With thousands of curses and several curse masters at his side, Suguru had enough power to declare war on the Magic College, the cornerstone of the shamanic world.
Suguru understood that despite all his resources, he had little chance of defeating all the shamans of the Magic College.
Master Hand-to-Hand Combatant: Most of Suguru's opponents assume he will fight as a shikigami user and allow his cursed spirits to attack for him. Suguru uses this misconception about his technique to his advantage, surprising his opponents with his mastery of hand-to-hand combat.
Suguru allowed the armed man to come close so that Suguru could strike him with fists, palms, and hard chopping blows that could knock out teeth and leave the opponent in a bloody heap.

Suguru chose his true side, deciding that he hated monkeys and would fight for a world inhabited only by shamans.

As a student at the Magic College alongside his best friend Satoru, Suguru initially believed shamans existed to protect non-shamans. Satoru argued that Suguru shouldn't boast about his righteousness, and that applying reason to magic was foolish. Their clashing ideologies led them to argue and butt heads as young men.
Back then, Suguru was a much kinder and more respectable young man, especially compared to Satoru. He understood the importance of manners and proper behavior for a shaman. In his opinion, Satoru was too rude. Despite their occasional disagreements, Suguru and Satoru remained the best of friends. They encouraged each other to be their best selves and were confident that they could achieve anything as long as they had each other.
However, after Riko Amanai's death, everything began to change. The followers of the Star Religious Group applauded her death, and this sad act haunted Suguru. He decided not to kill them, because shamans must have a reason for killing.
Suguru tried to maintain his ideology, but over time, his path became increasingly unclear. Satoru became the strongest on his own, and Suguru began to undertake more dangerous missions alone. He felt trapped in an endless cycle of exile and consumption. Eventually, he began to question for whom he was committing these vile acts, and he remembered the non-shamans of the Star Religious Group. That day, he saw their vile evil and yet decided to protect them, a decision he later regretted, calling them "monkeys" for the first time.
During the mission that followed this incident, Suguru discovered two little girls being mistreated by non-shamans for possessing cursed abilities. At that moment, Suguru made his final decision. He saved the two girls and killed all one hundred and twelve villagers, officially becoming a curse master and giving up his Magic College badge.

Suguru Geto hated non-shamans, commonly calling them "monkeys." He believed shamans were a superior race and the next stage of human evolution. He was smug and extremely condescending toward ordinary people, using false identities to lure in vulnerable people who had been cursed. Suguru found non-shamans so repulsive that he sprayed himself to disinfect his "monkey stench." He believed monkeys had only two roles associated with him: money-collecting monkeys and curse-collecting monkeys. If they failed to fulfill their roles, Suguru happily allowed the curses to kill them without remorse.
Unlike them, Suguru cared deeply for his fellow Curse Masters, calling his commanders family.
Suguru was even polite to the shamans, although this was usually expressed under one of his false personalities.

Suguru is a tall, slender man with long black hair, partially pulled back behind his head, and the rest flowing down his back. He has small, light-brown eyes and bangs that sometimes cover his left eye. His earlobes have fairly large tunnels studded with large, round, purple stones.
In 2006, as a student, Suguru's hair was much shorter. Most of it was tied back, but his bangs remained noticeable. After August 2007, when Suguru became a curse master, his hair began to grow out and reached its current length in 2017.
As a student, Suguru wore the standard uniform of the Magic College. When disguised as a Buddhist monk, Suguru dons the appropriate attire. Over a black yukata robe, he wears a gold-colored kashaya robe. His monk's attire is completed with white tabi socks and zori sandals.
