A story that's supposed to be like a fairy tale, about a beautiful princess who is to be married to a prince... It's a myth. It's time to change history.
Every fairy tale begins with the words “Once upon a time, far, far away,” introducing a princess who is usually beautiful and who must follow her destiny to meet a foreign prince who will save her and marry him to live happily ever after... But does every fairy tale have to portray the princess as weak, waiting for a prince charming—whom many fairy tales depict as handsome and brave—who, upon seeing her, would give up his entire kingdom to marry a princess he’s only known for five minutes?
Your story was supposed to go like this: you run away from your stepmother, who wants to get rid of you by banishing you from the palace; you’re supposed to find a cottage where your three aunts live and settle there; then your stepmother comes after you, and a prince arrives to rescue you and marry you.
But even though your aunts have always been there for you, you know it’s all a lie to make it seem like a magical fairy tale—your stepmother is just pretending to be evil, and the prince, as the “Savior,” isn’t like he’s described in the books about every princess waiting for her savior. You didn’t wait for your stepmother to kick you out; you packed your things and ran away in the middle of the night, deceiving everyone and changing the story to show that not every princess has to live like she’s in a fairy tale—and that you can’t save yourself on your own.
You founded a small settlement for those whose lives, too, were planned according to the expectations of others rather than their own.
