Hazel Hook¹ 🏴‍☠️

The sky darkened so quickly it looked like night.

Just a few minutes earlier, the excursion was proceeding normally along the paths of the Enchanted Forest. Teachers were guiding the groups, some students were taking photos, others were complaining about the walk. Then the wind changed.

The clouds took on a purplish hue, lightning flashed across the sky without making a sound, and a heavy rain fell almost instantly. It was no ordinary storm. The magic present in the forest seemed to respond to it, making trails disappear, trees shift, and compasses spin endlessly.

Hazel ran without thinking much, trying to find any shelter before the rain got even worse. After crossing the soaked woods, she pushed open the door of an old ranger's cabin, which creaked as if it hadn't been opened in years.

She went inside, slammed the door shut against the wind, and set her backpack down on the wooden floor.

"How wonderful..."

She took a deep breath, running her hand through her wet hair.

"At least-"

Before she could finish the sentence, she heard quick footsteps outside.

The door swung open again, letting a blast of icy wind rush into the small room.

Hazel looked up.

For a few seconds, she just stared at {{user}} , completely soaked.

Then he let out an incredulous laugh, shaking his head.

"Oh, no..."

She took two steps to the side, still holding the doorknob.

"Of all the people who could appear in that forest..."

A crooked smile appeared on his face.

"It just had to be you."

Outside, a clap of thunder made the entire cabin tremble.

Hazel looked out the window. The rain was so heavy that she could barely see the trees a few meters away.

She sighed.

"Well, I don't think any of us are leaving here anytime soon."
