Katsuki is a young man of above-average height with a slim, muscular build. He has short, spiky, sandy blond hair with choppy bangs that hang over his eyebrows, and sharp, intense bright red eyes that are usually fixed in anger. His hero costume consists of a tight, black, sleeveless tank top featuring an orange "X" across the middle, creating a V-neck design, with two black dots along the left side of the collar. The outfit includes a neck brace with rectangular ends, each having three holes on the side and front. He wears black sleeves that extend from his Grenadier Bracers up to his biceps, finishing with thin orange tips. A green and orange belt, equipped with two grenades on each side, secures his baggy pants that have green thigh garters, and metallic knee guards with four orange bolts fastened into them and two on the side. On his feet, he sports black, knee-high combat boots with orange soles, eight eyelets on both boots, and black straps with orange tips at the top. His mask is jagged and black, with a large, black, orange-rimmed flare shape protruding from each side around the eyes. In the winter months, he wears a large jacket with a high collar and four orange eyelets on the collar and two on each shoulder, rather than the usual tank top, while still maintaining the same orange "X" design, the purpose of which he can still sweat a sufficient amount in the cold weather, given how his Quirk works. Due to the injuries he sustained during the Paranormal Liberation War, Katsuki has an impacted scar near the base of his left shoulder that stretches to his clavicle, and one on his lower stomach area. In the aftermath of the battle, Katsuki's right arm became heavily scarred much like Izuku's, and despite the surgery is unable to move it again, with a prominent impact scar stretching from his elbow to his clavicle. Additionally, Katsuki's right cheek bears a stitched scar, marking the side of his face.

He reverts to his standard hero costume, now modified with a long black sleeve that envelops his entire right arm and shoulder, the purpose of it being to support the heavy damage in his civilian attire and uniform. During his remaining school years, Katsuki was able to rehabilitate his right arm and move it again, restoring its normal functions. Eight years after the end of the Final War, Katsuki has grown taller, more muscular, and leaner, with his right arm now bearing the scars from his injury. His hero costume still retains the same design as he wore from U.A., even switching to a sleeveless look sometimes, but with the orange "X" design going over his shoulders and ending at the middle of his back with a "Y" design, the two black dots along the left side of the collar being removed, the green straps on his pants now orange, and his Grenadier Bracers have been redesigned to be more streamlined, giving them the shape of smoke grenades instead of the usual grenade design. In addition, he wears two red braids at the back of his head, designed to look like lit fuses. His occasionally still wears his black mask, but the protruding large, orange-rimmed flare shapes were removed in favor of the braids.

Katsuki is a crude, arrogant, short-tempered, self-centered, and aggressive person, especially during his middle school days. Despite his desire to become a Pro Hero, his personality often comes off as uncouth at best and unheroic at worst. This problematic behavior goes all the way back to his early childhood days, where he gained an inflated ego as a result of being praised excessively for his powerful Explosion Quirk, leading him to bully a young, Quirkless, Izuku Midoriya. He was extremely arrogant and condescending to those around him, often bragging of his Explosion's power, and even boasting that he would take on his entire class. He frequently showed hostility towards Izuku, mainly because of his former Quirkless status, and would constantly put down his dream of becoming a Hero due to him lacking a Quirk, and also gave him the insulting nickname "Deku" (meaning useless and unable to achieve anything). He even threatened Izuku not to apply to U.A. High School and became angry when both of them passed the Entrance Exam, wanting to be the only person from his middle school to make it there; showing that he has no qualms over hurting other people to get what he wants and is, by his own admission, a perfectionist. He further demonstrated himself to be cruel and merciless, obsessed with showing off his power by harming Villains even if they are immobilized. However, after being accepted into U.A. and experiencing several personal defeats, one of them even coming from Izuku, Katsuki has gradually changed into a less antagonistic person, albeit still retaining a lot of his unpleasant traits. While often portrayed negatively, Katsuki's fierce character and competitive drive have actually granted him an important role among Class 1-A, as a sort of inspirational mood-maker.

Katsuki smiles eerily when in the middle of a battle. He is incredibly focused on achieving his own authentic victories and has learned to never underestimate his opponents. Katsuki is not only very athletic and talented at fighting, but also very intelligent and extremely perceptive, capable of strategic planning and improvisation. Moreover, Katsuki's grades are among the highest of his class and he already knew how to read perfectly by the age of four, evidence that he treats studying seriously. Katsuki also possesses surprising talent in other areas, such as cooking and music, even though he doesn't show a particular interest in them. Overall, he is considered a natural-born genius with the potential to be one of the best Pro Heroes around. After Izuku left U.A. in order to face All For One alone, as well as to protect his friends and family from danger, Katsuki, along with his classmates, departed from the school in order to bring him back. Following a battle to get Izuku to come to his senses, Katsuki genuinely apologizes to the former for his actions and even calls Izuku by his first name, displaying his regret over trying to usurp Izuku's strengths by putting him down and for bullying him in the past. This proves that Katsuki is repentant over his own faults, with him finally being able to face his feelings and the past in order to atone for how he was. Despite this, upon returning to U.A., he makes it clear that his goal of becoming the strongest hero hasn't changed and that Izuku along with the rest of his classmates are still his rivals.

Following the Final War, Katsuki accepts his injuries and shows his willingness to go ahead with rehabilitation, not wishing to have his broken right arm amputated and limit his Quirk. However, Katsuki becomes truly shocked and saddened upon learning that Izuku has been rendered Quirkless after his final battle against Tomura, recalling how he once bullied Izuku and his growth during their time at U.A. High School. This news was enough to reduce Katsuki to tears, with him confessing that he thought he would be competing with Izuku for the rest of their lives, demonstrating how he has come to truly support Izuku from all the years of conflict between them. Eight years later, Katsuki has graduated from U.A. High, becoming a notoriously strong Pro Hero. His aggressive and unpleasant personality has remained though, causing him to drop in the hero rankings and even scaring away Sidekicks who applied to work under him. His former teacher Shota Aizawa grumbles that despite his best efforts, he ultimately failed to get Katsuki to watch his mouth in public, with him shouting at and grabbing a civilian who was recording him on duty. Even so, Katsuki's bond with Izuku has remained intact, to the point where he led a funding for Mei Hatsume and Melissa Shield to create a mechanized suit for Izuku, which all of Class A contributed to. With their efforts allowing Izuku to become a hero again, Katsuki is the one to offer his hand to him as they all leap into action together. While his high temper is still present, Katsuki has also become more humble in his own way, saying that he would be happy to take on any sidekicks if they genuinely wanted to surpass him, while subtly trying to invite Izuku to his agency.

• Overall Abilities: Katsuki has proven to be one of the strongest students in Class 1-A, earning third place in the Quirk Apprehension Test, while placing first in both the U.A. Entrance Exam, having the most villain points, and the U.A. Sports Festival. Katsuki's fighting style is an all-out offense, using his Quirk's propulsive abilities to close the distance between him and his opponents, followed by a bombardment of close-range attacks that often start with a powerful right hook. Katsuki is able to use his Explosion to propel himself through mid-air, blind opponents, and release long-range blasts, among other applications. Explosion is a versatile Quirk, especially for battle situations, as the recoil caused by the blasts can be exploited by Katsuki for mobility purposes.
• Enhanced Strength: Katsuki possesses a high-caliber physical strength, confirmed by his ability to use his Grenade Bracers without sustaining effects from recoil, whereas Izuku nearly dislocated his arm trying to do so. He's also strong enough to casually pick up and throw people of Izuku's size considerable distance with one arm. Bakugo, in his match with Todoroki and when he used Howitzer Impact, proved to have enough strength to break a section of his ice with a smack, though the explosions enhanced this. His physical power is even enough to draw blood from Izuku at 5% of One For All with a kick.
• Enhanced Reflexes: Perhaps Katsuki's greatest physical trait is his fantastic reflexes and reaction time. Initially, his reflexes are on human levels, but decently sharp. He's shown on several occasions overwhelming his foes with his speed or completely evading all their attacks while striking back such as in his battles with Ochaco, Cider House, and Izuku (even when the latter was at 5% of One For All).

• Enhanced Durability: Katsuki is shown to possess above average endurance and durability. He's tough enough to withstand the blowback of his explosions regularly with only moderate pain. He blocked an 8% kick from Izuku without his arm breaking as well, though received a major scratch because of it. He was even proven to withstand attacks from All Might (while restraining himself), Nine, and the Serpenters, but not without large amounts of pain. As the Paranormal Liberation War was occurring, Katsuki's durability has been refined and toughened, enabling the boy to withstand against multiple stab wounds from Tomura's Rivet Stabs.
• Enhanced Stamina: Katsuki has conditioned himself to fight on for long periods of time even when heavily injured. When inflicted with sword wounds by the Serpenters' (before and after becoming Trigger-enhanced) Sword Kill Quirks, Katsuki continued to fight on par with them, and only collapsed from his injuries after defeating the twin duo. During the Paranormal Liberation War, Katsuki suffered stab wounds from a 75% augmented Tomura Shigaraki's Rivet Stab Quirk but could still hold his own against several Near High-End Nomu with aid from other heroes.
• Indomitable Will: Katsuki's willpower is one of his greatest traits, following through his notion of an absolute flawless victory no matter what. His willpower may even rival that of Izuku's in terms of determination and his strong hothead tendencies shows some display of that trait. Katsuki has displayed fearless drive to fight the villains and win no matter how strong his opponents may be such as Tomura, All For One, or Nine. Even when he was being grievously injured before being fatally injured by Tomura, his willpower was so immense that his fighting spirit made an All For One-possessed Tomura have sudden flashbacks of the Second User of One For All: Kudo.

• Keen Intellect: Katsuki has proven to be fairly intelligent and strategic, but his short temper and overinflated ego often gets the best of him, causing him to overlook crucial details and make several blunders. Academically, Katsuki is very skilled, having scored 3rd place in the midterms. While Katsuki may not always employ preemptive strategies or think before acting, he possesses a unique ability to adapt in battle.
• Leadership Skills: Katsuki has always been criticized for his lack of cooperativeness, usually as a result of his overwhelming ego that prevents him from following the lead of others. However, thanks to Katsuki's very own determination, perfectionism, and noteworthy intelligence, he is a capable leader should others decide to follow him instead.
• Cooking Skills: Katsuki is surprisingly adept in culinary practice, being able to cut vegetables very quickly and with ease, as well as spotting how Shoto hadn't cut chives properly and scolding him for it.
• Musical Talent: Katsuki is highly skilled at playing the drums, having gone through classes in the past.
• Technical Skills: Katsuki possesses some degree of technical skill. He pinpointed the location of the Humarise base by combining the two digital world maps of Trigger Bombs and narrowing it down to a location that wasn't specified by Humarise, as well as finding the Trigger Bomb control system.
• Survival Skills: Thanks to his hiking hobby, Katsuki has shown to be adept at surviving in the wilderness, be it a snowy mountain or a deserted island. He is able to organize space for a campsite, having knowledge of the resources required to camp outside, and was even able to build a shelter with only limited supplies from his environment.

Explosion (爆ばく破は, Bakuha?): Katsuki's Quirk allows him to secrete nitroglycerin-like sweat from the palms of his hands and ignite it on command, allowing him to create strong explosions. The more Katsuki sweats, the stronger his explosions become. If Katsuki overuses this power, his forearms will start to ache.

• Explosive Speed (爆ばく速そくターボ, Bakusoku Tābo?): Katsuki throws his hands back and uses explosions to propel himself. He uses this both on the ground to increase his speed and through the air to achieve a pseudo form of flight.
• Stun Grenade (閃光弾スタン グレネード, Sutan Gurenēdo?): Katsuki starts by creating a sphere of light between his hands that explodes into a large scale flash. Similar to the effect of an actual stun grenade, the flash of light blinds anyone close by.
• Point-Blank Stun Grenade (ゼロ距きょ離り閃光弾スタングレネード, Zero Kyori Sutan Gurenēdo?): A variation where Katsuki fires off his Stun Grenade at point-blank range of the opponent to immediately stun and immobilize them with little lasting damage.
• Howitzer Impact (榴弾砲着弾ハウザー インパクト, Hauzā Inpakuto?): This move is one of Katsuki's strongest techniques, which involves Katsuki taking to the air, and then using explosions to propel himself in a circular motion to create a tornado. This tornado builds up oxygen to fuel the incoming explosion. After colliding with the target, Katsuki releases the powerful aforementioned explosion.
• AP Shot (徹甲弾A・P・ショット, Ē-Pī Shotto?): Katsuki stretches out one of his hands and uses his other hand to form a circle on the palm of his outstretched hand. Katsuki then fires an explosion through the circle, which creates a concentrated blast beam. By focusing the path of his explosions into a single point instead of around his whole palm, Katsuki creates a concentrated blast with reduced area of impact, but with enough power to successfully pierce solid concrete.
• AP Shot: Auto-Cannon (徹甲弾A・P・ショット機関銃オートカノン, Ē-Pī Shotto Ōtokanon?): A rapid-fire version of his AP Shot Technique. The explosion power is reduced in order to avoid dealing severe damage to human targets.
• AP Machine-Gun (徹甲機銃A・P・マシンガン, Ē-Pī Mashingan?): A stronger version of his AP Shot: Auto-Cannon where Katsuki fires larger, rapid-fire explosions.

• Explode-A-Pult (爆破式エクスカタパルト, Ekusu Kataparuto?): While in mid-air, Katsuki grabs an opponent with one of his arms, then propels himself in a spinning motion by firing explosions with his free arm. Once he gains enough momentum, Katsuki forcefully throws his opponent with the aid of another explosion.
• Land Mine Blast (爆ばく風ふう地じ雷らい, Bakufū Jirai?): Katsuki places his Grenadier Bracer on the ground and lets of a massive explosion into the ground, blowing back any obstacles surrounding him.
• Cluster (クラスター, Kurasutā?): Katsuki condenses his explosions to become stronger and faster, allowing him to unleash a flurry of bursts that can be used in a variety of ways.
• Explosive Speed: Cluster (爆ばく速そくターボ クラスター, Bakusoku Tābo Kurasutā?): Katsuki employs the Cluster technique to propel himself forward in a similar fashion to his Explosive Speed, but at a much faster rate, allowing him to catch up with extremely fast targets.
• Howitzer Impact: Cluster (ハウザーインパクト クラスター, Hauzā Inpakuto Kurasutā?): Katsuki employs the Cluster technique and the Strafe Panzer support item to empower his Howitzer Impact by creating larger explosions to propel himself with, as well as launching explosions in all directions. Being an enhanced version of "Howitzer Impact," this is the most powerful move in Katsuki's arsenal.

Mina is a girl of medium height, set a little more broadly than some of her other female classmates, with, according to her profile, "healthy thighs". Due to her Quirk, her skin is a light shade of pink, and she has somewhat square-shaped eyes with black sclerae, yellow irises and notably long eyelashes below and around the sides of her eyes. Minoru Mineta once commented that "she's got a super athletic body". Her face is framed by short, fluffy, unruly pink hair that is slightly darker than her skin. She also has two thin pale yellow horns protruding from her head, hooked squarely and leaning diagonally to opposite sides, which seem to be slightly flexible, able to bend a bit to each side. Her Hero Costume, Prism Sky, consists of a plain white mask with thin lines over her eyes and a purple and turquoise skintight bodysuit with a camouflage pattern, ending just above her breasts. Over this, she wears a cropped, sleeveless, beige-colored waistcoat with white fur along its collar, which she leaves unbuttoned. She wears custom made plum violet and beige acid-proof boots with holes in the soles, allowing her to secrete acid from her feet to slide around. The winter version of her costume is very similar, the only difference being that she replaces her usual waistcoat with another, which is slightly longer and has sleeves down to her elbows. A large hexagonal patch with a purple letter "P" (standing for her hero name, "Pinky") stitched onto the shoulder of each sleeve. The fur lining is on both her collar and hem, along with being thicker and wider, and is joined in the center by two clasps instead of being undone like the rest of her jacket. From the Paranormal Liberation War and onwards, her waistcoat now has the fur lining under the hem of jacket now.

During the Final War, Mina pushed her acid viscosity to the max, which resulted in her horns growing in length and straightening out. Upon unleashing her Acidman: Alma, overusing her Quirk resulted in the left side of her body losing its pink color and becoming a fair tone. She also lost some of the black in the sclera of her left eye, with a small portion of it becoming white. In the anime, she also acquired burns on her arms due to overusing her acid. Following the war, her appearance has returned to normal and her injuries have healed. Eight years later after the end of the Final War, Mina has grown taller, and leaner. Her horns have become longer, with both being slightly bent, and her hair has become longer and unruly, but wavier, going past her shoulders. In her casual attire, she wears a form-fitting, black sleeveless mini dress featuring a simple tank-style neckline with thick straps and simple, dark grey ankle socks. Her costume remains largely the same, with the only differences being a jacket with a longer fur lining, two wristbands with the same camouflage pattern as her bodysuit, and her boots now being redesigned to a sleeker build and a holed patch at the top to flush more acid through. She also wears her mask but occasionally doesn't have it on.

Mina is a cheerful and easygoing girl who usually displays a smile. Highly social and excitable, she loves to hang out with her friends and is shown to become very upset when denied an opportunity to be at a gathering. She possesses a strong fashion sense and likes to go shopping and likes to talk with her friends. Due to her athleticism and energy, Mina enjoys and is very skilled at dancing. Her demeanor becomes more strict and perfectionist when teaching others how to dance, in direct contrast to her usual happy-go-lucky nature. She is known to use her dancing to somehow pacify even those who have bad relationships with others. Mina's academic performance is quite poor, with Mina goofily laughing about it despite showing clear anxiety and frustration. Because of that, she is often viewed as an airhead by her classmates (second only to Denki Kaminari). However, with proper tutoring, she does appear to show dedication to her studies. Mina is extremely courageous and is viewed as an ideal personality for hero work. Before entering U.A., Mina would condemn bullying in middle school and even convinced some bullies to come around with her upbeat and easygoing demeanor. She also seems to be the type to put her life in harm's way to protect others, though she has a hard time dealing with the pain and fear afterwards. This stalwart attitude was seen when she lied to Gigantomachia to protect her friends from the behemoth’s anger and successfully got the giant to leave, just before collapsing into tears of fear and relief, showing that the ordeal had terrified her as well. Mina is somewhat of a romantic and holds a lot of interest over other people's love lives, to the point of being obnoxiously curious and intrusive about them. Her suspicions, however, tend to be rather baseless most of the time, as she seems to view any instance of a pairing as possible proof of a relationship regardless of compatibility.

• Overall Abilities: Despite having minimal combat abilities, Mina makes up for it with her Quirk proficiency and incredible reaction time. Her abilities allowed her to earn 9th place in the Quirk Apprehension Test and Mina has demonstrated a good handle on the applications of her Acid, using it as cover fire for her allies and employing it in various ways. Mina can also control the levels of solubility and viscosity of her acid. She lowers solubility and ensures that her Quirk doesn't become lethal against most living beings. And by raising viscosity, Mina can generate extremely slimy acid that acts as a protective barrier by gluing it to surfaces. Mina is said to have difficulties facing human adversaries due to not fully mastering her Quirk's corrosive properties, so she's more comfortable battling inorganic foes.Besides her Quirk handling, Mina reflexes surpass most of Class 1-A's students while being the best out of the female members of the said class. Examples include Mina easily dodging Yuga Aoyama's laser attacks, and later on at the Provisional Hero License Exam, with precise flicks, melt several high-speed target balls launched toward her. During the Joint Training Battle, Mina showcased her improvement, effectively switching between different acid-based techniques, while executing unorthodox, yet impeccable teamwork with Minoru. On Nabu Island, Mina and Fumikage Tokoyami tag-teamed against Slice, wherein Mina successfully weakened the red-haired villainess, and used her agility to evade the majority of the latter’s hair assault. Her abilities eventually garnered the attention of the Equipped Hero: Yoroi Musha, allowing Mina to intern under the now former No. 9 Pro Hero and improve her offensive and defensive abilities. In the Final War, Mina successfully melted through Gigantomachia's armored skin, which is an impressive feat given that Gigantomachia's exterior is nearly indestructible.

• Dancing Talent: Mina is extremely skilled at dancing, capable of pulling break-dance moves with little effort. She can also teach an amateur to become a decent dancer quickly. Izuku Midoriya has noted that her dancing expertise means she possesses excellent body control: thus, her quick reflexes and skill in close quarters combat.

Acid (酸さん, San?): Mina's Quirk allows her to produce a corrosive liquid from her body. She can control the solubility and viscosity of this corrosive liquid. There is a limit to how long she can produce the corrosive liquid until her skin gradually loses its natural resistance to it. Overusing her Quirk or pushing it too far can also be fatal, as it dehydrates her body very fast. Mina can use her acid offensively, but has shown utility with it as well, such as melting handholds for herself to climb with. She is also known to secrete a non-corrosive version of the acid from her feet in order to slide around. As part of her training, Mina constantly produced acid in order to increase her skin's durability, namely towards the corrosive properties of her Quirk.

• Acid Veil (アシッドベール , Ashiddobēru?): Mina's special move. By maximizing her acid's solubility and viscosity, Mina creates a gelatinous acid wall that blocks incoming projectiles. Mina's Acid Veil was strong enough to block hardened balls (which were stronger than concrete) with ease.
• Acid Shot (アシッドショット, Ashiddo Shotto?): Mina fires a hail of acidic bullets over a widespread area from above to shower down on to her opponents.
• Acid Layback (アシッドレイバック, Ashiddo Reibakku?): Mina projects acid from her shoes to dissolve the surface of the ground beneath her and make it easier to spin on the spot. With the enhanced momentum of her super-fast spin, she can throw projectiles with massively increased force.
• Grape-Pinky Combo Mineta Bounce (グレープピンキーコンボ 跳はね峰みね田た, Gurēpu Pinkī Konbo - Hane Mineta?): After Mina uses Acid Lay-back to spin on the spot and Minoru lays down multiple Pop Off Spheres on the ground and walls, Mina throws Minoru with great force so that he bounces from sphere to sphere. As he is flying through the air and bouncing off of each sphere, he can throw more Pop Off Spheres from his head onto his opponents while making it difficult to be hit back.
• Acidman (アシッドマン, Ashiddoman?): After increasing the viscosity of her Quirk, Mina generates a large amount of acid that takes a vaguely anthropomorphic form that covers her entire body. This technique has defensive properties since every attack against Mina will be dissolved by the powerful acid that protects her.
• Alma (ALMAアルマ, Aruma?): After increasing the acidity of her Quirk to the maximum, Mina flings her Acidman at an opponent.

Eijiro is a muscular young man of average height and a rather impressive physique for his young age. He has red eyes that are pointed slightly inwards, with a small scar just above his right eye, small eyebrows, and sharp teeth. His hair is somewhat long, dyed a bright red, and spiked away from his head at all angles with gel, with two more pronounced tufts spiked on either side of his forehead like little horns. This lofty style takes a full three minutes to set. Eijiro's Hero Costume consists of two dark red gear-shaped shoulder pads. A similar colored jagged sash joins the one on his left to the right side of his red belt, which has a lighter red "R" set into its center, standing for his hero name: Red Riot. Below this, he wears baggy black pants and a red half cape with a ripped hem. He also sports dark red boots and thick rings around his calves. He leaves his chest bare and wears a wired guard mask around his face, reaching from just above his hairline to below his jaw, an extra piece going over the bridge of his nose, and some spiked pieces around his mouth that resemble little fangs. Overall, the look slightly resembles that of an Oni. In preparation for the Provisional Hero License Exam, Eijiro added black sleeves to his costume, which he wears to prevent civilians from being hurt by his Quirk during rescues. When using Unbreakable, he hardens his body as much as possible, taking on a form that is extremely rugged, and giving him a monstrous appearance.

Eight years after the end of the Final War, Eijiro has grown taller and bulkier, as his hair has gotten spikier and a bit longer, extending to his shoulders, while retaining the two spiky strands sticking up like a horn. His costume also remains identical aside from longer bright red cape with white fur lining being on the hem over a dark red half cape with a ripped hem underneath, his two dark red gear-shaped shoulder pads being more rock-like with two longer spike on each side, removes the jagged sash, his wired guard mask having white teeth in its design, and a sharper black belt, which still has the lighter red "R" set into its center.

Eijiro is a boisterous and outgoing guy with a fondness for manliness, often using the terms "manly" and "unmanly" to describe things and people he does or doesn't like, respectively. Those who showcase a noble, brave, or determined attitude tend to emotionally move him to tears, quickly earning his complete admiration, respect, and friendship. Similarly, he will call out traits that are the opposite of that, such as cowardice and dirty play. Eijiro is determined and selfless, bravely putting the safety of others before himself. He is also a big fan of Crimson Riot, a retro hero from whom he takes inspiration, including personal values and his hero name. Eijiro is very honest and kind-hearted, having a straightforward way of thinking and following a specific code of chivalry that motivates him to live without regret. Thanks to his respectful and encouraging attitude, he's easily capable of making friends with most people he encounters, particularly those that show as much passion and resolve as he does. Loyal and dedicated to his friends, Eijiro is willing to break laws and rules to help or save them, becoming regretful if he cannot come to their aid. He has a strong sense of responsibility, sometimes being very hard on himself for any adverse outcomes that befall him or his friends. As such, he's always thinking about further improving his abilities and strengths to not feel weak or burdensome to others, which is how Eijiro overcame his earlier impulsiveness in battle and weak academic performance; as a result of his hard work, he's become smarter and wiser over time.

Eijiro has stated more than once that he does not think very highly of his own Hardening Quirk, thinking it lacks the flashiness usually found among Pro Heroes. He will get downright offended if he sees someone with a similar Quirk.[7] Eijiro is worried about not having a good enough Quirk for hero work and that his skills could not compare to other hero prospects. A lot of this self-doubt seems to have come from an incident in Junior High when he saw Mina Ashido stop an underclassman from being bullied and save some students from a threatening figure.[8][9] His friends pointed out that Mina would quickly become a hero due to her outgoing personality and athletic nature. After this, Eijiro considered himself dull and pathetic for his inaction and powerlessness. However, thanks to an old, recorded interview featuring his idol, Eijiro gained the perspective he needed to regain his composure and overcome most insecurities. From that point on, Eijiro started working, studying, and training diligently. Eijiro decided to reinvent himself after being accepted into U.A. High, adopting a tough, confident, fiery persona that he considers ideal for the hero he wants to be: Red Riot. While Eijiro may not be as hot-blooded and competitive as Katsuki Bakugo, he does not shy away from comparing himself to him, with Izuku stating that the two have managed to develop a relationship as equals. As a result, Eijiro is notably one of the few people that Katsuki holds in higher esteem.

• Overall Abilities: Eijiro has proven to be a formidable combatant. His abilities earned him second place in the U.A. Entrance Exam, having a fair balance of both villain and rescue points, and 8th place in the Quirk Apprehension Test. Thanks to his Quirk, Red Riot's straightforward and reckless fighting style lets his hardened body take opposing hits while delivering counterattacks. Even bullets cannot pierce his skin when his Quirk is active, meaning that Eijiro can turn himself into a shield for allies or defenseless civilians. During the U.S.J. Incident, he and Katsuki attempted to take on Kurogiri before being warped away, leaving the pair to battle and soon defeat, low-tier members of the League of Villains. Eijiro has shown to be as formidable as Tetsutetsu Tetsutetsu, and due to their similar Quirks and fighting styles, the two were evenly matched during their battle at the U.A. Sports Festival, which resulted in a draw. The two hard-headed students were still on par with each other during their arm wrestling tie-breaker until Tetsutetsu's Steel Quirk began to weaken due to insufficient iron intake. Later, Eijiro impressively forced Katsuki, one of Class 1-A's strongest students, on the defensive for some time during their match before Eijiro's Quirk began to weaken, causing him to lose the battle. When he first underwent Hero Work-Studies, under the tutelage of Fat Gum, Red Riot confronted a villain who could protrude metal blades from his body. He was initially taken by surprise when the blade villain used the Trigger drug to enhance his Quirk, but after bringing his Hardening to its maximum durability, the red-haired hero was able to overcome the villain's increased power and defeat him.

• Overall Abilities: Amid the Shie Hassaikai Raid, Red Riot and Fat Gum faced off against Kendo Rappa and Hekiji Tengai of the Eight Bullets, but he was heavily struck by a powerful punch from Kendo, leaving him out of commission for the majority of the duel. Eventually, Red Riot regained his resolve, stepped in to endure Kendo's volley of punches efficaciously, and had the mettle to directly engage the former cage fighter with a blow that could have negated that of the latter, but Hekiji intervened with a barrier. During the first round of the Joint Training Battle, Eijiro and Koji Koda launched a collaboration attack on Jurota Shishida of Class 1-B that forced the latter into evading the said assault, implying their combined onslaught would've been effective against someone of his caliber. Jurota himself admitted that Eijiro was the only person in their battle that could pose a threat to his abilities, so he swiped the sturdy student aside to be captured by Ibara Shiozaki.
• Enhanced Durability: Eijiro has above-average durability even without his Quirk. According to Katsuki, although Eijiro took a barrage of point-blank explosions during their fight at the U.A. Sports Festival, this was not due to his armored skin alone. This proves that Eijiro's natural durability is relatively strong, but can be amplified by his Hardening Quirk.

• Indomitable Will: A prominent aspect of Eijiro is his die-hard chivalry. During his middle school days, he lacked the courage to stand up for others, despite desperately wanting to, but was too afraid to do so. However, after watching a video containing Crimson Riot's speech on chivalry and heroic ideals, Eijiro re-evaluated himself and became a virile person who desires to help others no matter how scared he may be, even if it means recklessly rushing into situations. Eijiro changed his original black hair to the spiked, red appearance he now possesses to symbolize his admiration for Crimson Riot and his reformation into a more courageous person.[9][4] Red Riot's heroic spirit remained steadfast when he voiced his intent to help save Katsuki, who had been abducted by the League of Villains, and proclaimed that he wouldn't stand by and do nothing. At the beginning of his and Fat Gum's battle against Kendo and Hekiji, Red Riot was incapacitated by Kendo's punch and despaired over being unable to help Fat Gum, who was being repeatedly pulverized.[20] But after recalling his past hopelessness and the inspirations that pushed him to grow, he regained his resolve, refortified his hardened body, and withstood Kendo's bullet punches far better than before, nearly taking the brawler head-on. Hekiji was ultimately forced to defend his partner with a barrier. Because of Red Riot's determination, Fat Gum gathered the accumulated kinetic energy from Kendo's punches and defeated the yakuza duo. In the aftermath, both Fat Gum and Kendo acknowledged Red Riot's fighting spirit, with the latter even wanting a rematch in the future.

Hardening (硬こう化か, Kōka?): Red Riot's Quirk gives him the power to harden and sharpen any or all parts of his body, causing his flesh to become jagged and rock-like. There is a limit to how much damage his hardened body can withstand, which causes Hardening itself to slowly dissipate, and Eijiro to lose stamina from struggling to keep his Quirk active. However, when battling Kendo Rappa, Red Riot displayed the ability to refortify his hardened body mid-combat. As part of his training, Eijiro, in his hardened form, was continuously attacked by Mashirao Ojiro's Tail, and with each hit, the strength and durability of his Quirk increased.
• Enhanced Durability: Eijiro's Quirk grants him greatly enhanced durability. His hardened body has displayed the ability to withstand a great deal of punishment for extended periods of time, including:

• Several tons of scrap metal from a Villain Bot - Executor falling on top of him,
• A number of point-blank explosions from Katsuki,
• Bullets being fired at him,
• A shower of blades produced by a villain whose blade Quirk was strengthened by Trigger,
• A series of powerful punches from Kendo,
• Chimera's full-power flame breath at point-blank range.
• Dabi's flames burning his body,
• Gigantomachia swiping him away.
  • Enhanced Strength: When using his Quirk, Eijiro's physical strength is increased, enabling him to break through most obstacles. He demonstrated this multiple times during the Sports Festival, such as digging through debris from Villain Bots and defeating metal constructs.[25] In his arm-wrestling match against Tetsutetsu, his fingers dug through concrete, eventually breaking the podium. He was also able to:
• Break multiple concrete walls (alongside Rikido Sato) during a fight with Cementoss,
• Shatter blades with a single elbow strike,
• Destroy a concrete wall with help from Izuku,
• Throw a punch strong enough to force Hekiji to block with a barrier.

• Red Counter (烈レッ怒ド交吽咤カウンター, Reddo Kauntā?): While hardened, Red Riot endures a close-range attack and counters with a straight punch.
• Unbreakable (安アン無ブ嶺レイ過武瑠カブル, Anbureikaburu?): Red Riot reaches his maximum hardening level by turning his entire body extremely rugged and jagged, giving him a monstrous appearance and practical invulnerability to most forms of physical attacks. This form can only be maintained for about 30–40 seconds.
• Red Gauntlet (烈レッ怒ド頑ガン斗ト裂レッ屠ト, Reddo Gantoretto?): Red Riot charges the opponent and delivers a single, powerful punch to the gut. This move deals massive damage if used in his Unbreakable form.
