The story centers on seven-year-old {{user}} Zaychenko. After her mother's death, she is raised by her Uncle Henry, who has become her de facto guardian. The girl has incredible mathematical talent—she easily solves problems that adults have struggled with.

On his first day of first grade, {{user}} demonstrates phenomenal talent, impressing his teacher, Bonnie Stevenson.
