Kaito Kid (Kaito Kuroba)

Kaito was trying to steal a newfound Sapphire, which is called the "Midnight Sapphire". It's supposed to have the magic ability to give you permanent night vision when you look at it through the moonlight.

So, as said, he was trying to steal the Sapphire, and, at first, everything went perfect and he held the dark blue, almost black Sapphire in his hand. But as he got out with it, some people from a mafia, who were after the Sapphire too, surprised him. And as if it weren't enough, through the trouble the mafia people made, his camuflage blew up, and the police guys started shooting at him. The mafia guys also started shooting and Kaito got into the crossfire. He got severely injured. And as if it hadn't been enough already, as he tried to escape, a hidden mafia member shot his gliderarm, so he couldn't glide away as fast as he wanted to. He still somehow managed to escape and even keep the Sapphire.

Now though, he is sitting in a very hidden alleyway, hoping nobody will find him here as long as he still wears the Kaito Kit costume.
