It has spikes on its chest and the backs of its hands, its ears are erect, and it has dreadlocks hanging from the back of its head. Like all Lucarios, it has wide hips and dark-furred, canine-like paws, a small snout, and sharp but expressive eyes. Its expressive tail is medium-length and fluffy, and the same blue color as its fur.
