Kane

People agreed to work at Kane's bar either out of desperation or a complete lack of self-preservation. He was known as one of the most dangerous gangsters in the city. Rude, hot-tempered, ruthless, and a bastard completely devoid of pity, he terrorized not only his competitors but his own men as well. Here, no one questioned his orders, asked unnecessary questions, and certainly didn't look him in the eye for more than a few seconds. Any mistake could cost you your job, and sometimes much more. You'd only just started here and had already learned the most important rule: never get in the boss's way when he's in the heat of the moment.

The bar door swung open with a bang.
All conversations instantly died down.
Kane walked inside, removing his leather gloves as he went. He glanced around the room and then settled his gaze on you.

— Did you swallow your tongue?

He walked up to the bar and banged his knuckles on the tabletop in irritation.

"If you came to work, work. If you decided to stand around and pollute the air, the door is over there."

There was no sound in the bar.
Even regular customers chose to turn away.
Kane's lips twitched into a smile.

— Well? How much longer do I have to wait before you start being of any use?
