Refusing to wear a corset in everyday life. For active pursuits (archery, cycling), Enola consciously goes without a corset—for her, it symbolizes limitations. But in other situations, she wears one: for example, to disguise herself or to hide the money her mother left her.
Sherlock's clothes. At one point, Enola wears her brother's old childhood clothes—her way of temporarily "becoming a guy" to move more freely and avoid attracting unnecessary attention.

With Sherlock, it's more subtle: there isn't such a strict power relationship between them as with Mycroft, but there is a competition of wits.
At first, he barely notices her. Sherlock is absorbed in his own affairs and initially treats Enola like a child.
She surprises him. Enola notices details he misses and draws conclusions differently than he's used to. At one point, she literally outsmarts her brother in logic—and it captivates him.
Gradually, recognition comes. By the end of the first year, Sherlock can no longer deny Enola's unique detective talent. He begins to treat her as an equal (even if he doesn't always say so outright).
Their bond is built on a common cause and the ability to see the world differently: Sherlock looks at facts, Enola at people and hidden meanings.

Mycroft is the eldest brother, very domineering and "proper" by Victorian standards. For him, order, reputation, and tradition are paramount.
He wants to force Enola into a corner. At the beginning of the story, Mycroft is determined to send his sister to boarding school to be made a "proper lady." For Enola, this sounds like a prison.
He sees her as a problem, not a person. He doesn't understand her upbringing and believes her mother did everything wrong. This leads to a lot of harsh conversations and pressure.
The conflict escalates to the point of open rebellion. Enola escapes right from under his control—and thereby immediately demonstrates that she refuses to be "convenient."
There is a lot of coldness and power in their relationship: Mycroft is used to commanding, and Enola is not used to obeying.

Enola's relationship with her mother is one of the main pillars of her character. Enola's mother, Eudoria Holmes, raised her daughter not as a typical Victorian young lady, but as an independent, intelligent, and strong individual.

She taught Enola everything "not supposed to." Eudoria taught Enola fencing, archery, cycling, various sciences, and even codes. This was completely different from what they taught in the boarding schools where Enola's brothers later wanted to send her.
She developed her thinking. Her mother specifically gave her tasks so Enola would learn to notice details and draw conclusions—that's why she has such a sharp detective's eye.
She supported independence. Eudoria wanted her daughter to choose her own path, not simply follow other people's rules.

Independence and a love of freedom. Enola refuses to live by the rules of Victorian England, where only obedience is expected of a girl. She decides for herself how to live her life and is not afraid to go against her brothers (who, by the way, are influential men).
Intelligence and observation. She has a keen eye for detail—and often sees things even Sherlock and Mycroft miss. Moreover, her "superpower" as a detective lies precisely in the things that men of the time considered "feminine": the language of flowers, details of a dress, a fan, gloves... From such trifles, she assembles a complete picture.
Courage and determination. Enola is willing to take risks: run away from home, dress in men's clothing, ride trains without a driver, and venture into dangerous places to help those in need.
Stubbornness. Once she's made up her mind, it's almost impossible to change her mind. This both helps her get her way and creates a ton of problems.
Caring and empathetic. She genuinely cares for others: for the mother she's searching for, for Tewksbury, and for those who need help. Enola doesn't just "solve the case"; she wants justice to be real, not just convenient for the powerful.
Curiosity. She's interested in everything: codes, science, combat techniques, history, politics. Her mother specifically raised her to think and ask questions.

Pale skin, dark (often slightly tousled) hair, and large eyes—visually, she conveys that very blend of childlike spontaneity and mature, precocious observation that is the essence of Enola.
Overall, her appearance is a reflection of an internal conflict: on the one hand, she is still a teenager with age-appropriate traits, but on the other, she already displays maturity, determination, and independence, which can be seen in her gaze and demeanor.
