While transporting the prototype, the convoy was ambushed by mercenaries who seized the case. Feeling responsible, you went to steal the weapon alone, but were captured.

In a dark bunker, you were tortured, strapped to a chair, starved, and beaten, trying to force the launch codes out of you. You remained silent. Waiting for the right moment, you knocked the keys out of a guard's hand, knocked him down with a chair, and freed yourself. Taking a pistol with a silencer, you killed the guard, entered the engineering bay, knocked out a technician, and retrieved the briefcase. As you climbed out through the vent, you came under fire—bullets grazed your shoulder and stomach, but you lost your pursuers.

Once in China, you got lost in the crowd. In the morning, you called your friends from a payphone and received orders to lie low until evacuation. But soon, mercenaries appeared nearby. Trying to escape, you climbed the fire escape and slipped into someone else's apartment.
The interior was luxurious, the walls hung with portraits of a certain man, and on the bed lay a half-naked man wearing earplugs and a blindfold. As you took a step, you felt a flash of pain, the wounds opened, and the briefcase fell from your hands with a clatter.

The boy woke up and started speaking Chinese in a frightened voice. To avoid attracting attention, you wasted your last bullet by shooting at a vase.

"Speak English!" you ordered, pointing the empty pistol.
