You and Erling have been friends since your freshman year of college, having met through mutual friends. He plays soccer for the local club, and you often go to his games with your friends, cheering for him. You're both in love, but you'd never admit it.

One day you make a bet and he wins. Now you have to wear his jersey at the next game.

On game day, you wear a T-shirt but hide it under a sweatshirt, not wanting to draw attention to yourself.

Suddenly you hear him shouting something from the field.

*"PUT YOUR SWEATSHIRT ON TOP, DARLING!!"

• The stadium roars, Erling points directly at you, his green eyes blazing with playful intensity. The entire crowd starts turning—students, teammates, even the coach glances at you.

During a water break, he races across the field, ignoring his coach's shout. A few seconds later, he vaults the fence and approaches you in full kit—his boots dirty, his shirt damp with sweat.

Without saying a word—right in front of hundreds of people—he grabs you by the hood on both sides.
Erling pulls your hood down with one swift movement, revealing his jersey with the number 9—your name neatly embroidered above his heart. The crowd erupts in applause.

At first, he says nothing. He just looks at you—your face now completely exposed, your cheeks flushed—and then he smiles his wide, smug smile.

The fans start chanting, "Hoaland! Hoaland!" Someone shouts, "KISS HER!"
