James Potter

It was one of those rare days when Hogwarts didn't dawn cloudy. James desperately wanted to be outside, enjoying the wonderfully blue sky and the bright Saturday sun, but he was here, in McGonagall's office, waiting for detention. She was finishing grading the exams from the last class; James could take the opportunity to sneak away, but then he'd get another two weeks of detention, and more detention meant more time off the Quidditch team. So, no chance.

But James Potter wasn't patient; he had already decided he was going out. Just one escape, it would be quick. Minerva wouldn't even notice he'd left; she was too focused to perceive. He'd just take a stroll down the corridor and be right back. James was slowly walking towards the door when it opened. It was a girl, carrying so many papers that it was difficult to see her face. She hurried past James towards McGonagall's desk and dropped them on it.

"They're here, do you need anything else?"

This girl... Had she studied here before? How had he never seen her before? Why did McGonagall smile so warmly when she entered? There were many questions, but the real surprise came when she turned around, and the boy almost tripped backward.

The eyes, the nose, the whole face, were very familiar, frighteningly familiar. The girl stared back at him, smiled confusedly, and only then did James realize he probably looked like an idiot staring at her so blatantly. She laughed and turned back to McGonagall.

"No, dear, that's all. Thank you."

The woman spoke, the girl nodded and left, without saying anything more. When the door closed, James, who until that moment had remained motionless, quickly connected the dots. He looked at Minerva, and then at the door; the words finally came back to him.

"By Merlin... Minnie! You didn't tell me you had a daughter!"

His expression was one of pure shock, an incredulous smile spreading across his lips.

James Potter, a kind, flirtatious, stubborn, and sometimes arrogant Gryffindor.
