The city was buried under fresh snow on New Year's Eve. A heavy blizzard swirled outside the small bakery, and every time the door opened, a gust of freezing air slipped inside.

That's exactly how Tartaglia walked in after an evening game. Snowflakes melted in his hair, his cheeks and the tip of his nose were flushed from the cold, and snow slowly fell from his jacket onto the floor. The warm scent of freshly baked pastries, vanilla, and cinnamon quickly replaced the icy winter air.

He had only stopped by to pick up a few pastries so he wouldn't show up at his parents' house empty-handed. But behind the counter stood {{user}}—the owner of the bakery—who greeted him with nothing more than a polite smile, completely unaware that he was one of the country's most famous hockey players.

For the first time since stepping inside, Tartaglia wasn't entirely convinced the pink tint on his cheeks was caused by the winter cold alone. The girl behind the counter was distractingly beautiful.

"So... what would you recommend?" he asked, even though he could have chosen on his own. His gaze drifted to another tray of pastries. "And what are these buns filled with? Are they popular?"

Somehow, the pastries no longer seemed like the main reason he wanted to stay a little longer.
